Beach & Shopping Day
Manzanillo has clean beaches (many in coves) that do not lead out to open sea, and is not known for raucous “Spring Break” kinds of crowds. -So beach escapes here tend to be very family friendly. Cruise excursions to beaches are typically 6.5 hours long, and include your time through points of interest in the city as well as shopping time.
Price: Adults expect to pay up to $50 through the cruise lines.
Booking Advice: The Santiago Bay beaches are generally regarded as the best. This excursion is rated as easy in terms of physical exertion. Cruise line prices appear to be quite competitive with third party vendors.
Sailing & Snorkeling
After a 50 minute trip on a double decker catamaran, you reach Elephant Rock which is known as an excellent place for snorkeling. Then, you'll have 90 minutes to snorkel above live coral reef with a guide. Fresh fruit and beverages are included, as are a light snack and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages on your return trip. The entire excursion lasts up to 4 hours.
Price: Adults expect to pay around $90 through the cruise lines.
Booking Advice: This excursion is considered to be moderate on activity level scales. If the free food and snacks don't appeal to you but snorkeling at 3 different places does, you'll find some nice alternatives that include Elephant Rock at less expensive prices via third party vendors.
Cuyutlan Turtles Touring
En route by coach to El Tortugario Ecological Center, you'll see lemon, coconut, and banana plantations. Then, at the eco center, you'll have an opportunity to learn about and view some extremely large turtles, as well as crocodiles and iguanas in their sanctuaries. After a visit at the Salt Museum housed in a salt warehouse from the 1800's, you'll have a snack lunch at a Cayutlan Beach restaurant on the way back.
Price: Adults expect to pay up to $100.
Booking Advice: This excursion receives some very positive reviews from past cruise passengers, and is rated as easy in terms of physical exertion. Cruise line prices, which typically include the snack lunch, are good deals for this tour.
ATV Adventures
For 4.5 to 5.5 hours, these excursions include 3 to 4 hours of ATV touring as you ride through dry river beds and country roads through tropical forests and past plantations. Higher priced tours include lunch.
Price: Adults expect to pay from $50 to $109.
Booking Advice: With a moderate activity level rating, there are age requirements and physical restrictions. These excursions are popular and have limited capacity, so it's best to book early to avoid disappointment.
Resort R&R
Including travel time, the resort excursions offered through the cruise lines take from 5 to 5.5 hours. While you're at the resort, swim in the pool or ocean by the cove protected private beach, or just relax. You have use of the resort's facilities, and lunch & complimentary drinks are typcally included.
Price: Adults expect to pay $79 to $100 through the cruise lines.
Booking Advice: This is an easy activity in terms of physical exertion. Third party vendors offer some very competitive prices. Regardless of whom you choose, this is a popular excursion in Manzanillo and capacity is limited. We do suggest early (rather than later) booking.
