Cruise Passenger Safety in London

While medical services are widely available, free care under the National Health System (NHS) is allowed only for UK residents and certain EU nationals. Tourists and short-term visitors will be charged for medical treatment in the United Kingdom. Charges may be significantly higher than those assessed in the United States. Travelers to the United Kingdom should ensure they have adequate medical insurance to cover the cost of any treatment received. Check with your insurance carrier to assure you have coverage out of country. The United Kingdom has generally low crime rates. Typical criminal incidents include pick-pocketing, mugging, and “snatch and grab” theft of mobile phones, watches, and jewelry. As a matter of personal safety, it is advisable that you travel in groups, or go to places where there are large crowds of tourists when you are in London.

The London Police can be contacted by calling 999
