Phuket Restaurant Guide

Phuket features open air markets and cafes. However, you don't have to look very hard for indoor dining venues that feature great views. Check your choice of eating establishiments to see if you need a reservation.

Patong is typical of the open-air seafood restaurants which display their catch of the day (such as grouper (garoupa), lobster, squid, prawn, shellfish, and sometimes crab) on a bed of ice in front ot their store, however Patong has a long-established reputation for being the best. Service is fast and friendly and the crowd stays steady…so come out early. Prices for Patong are: main courses 180B-850B ($6 USD - $29 USD) and seafood is at market prices. All major credit cards are accepted. Reservations are not accepted at Patong. Hours are 7:00AM- 11:00PM daily. Patong is located on Patong Beach at 98/2 Thaweewong Rd, Patong, Phuket. Ka Jok See is an intriguing Thai restaurant which hides quietly behind a façade covered with ivy. Local professionals who are 'in-the-know' frequent Ka Jok See, so it's often very busy at lunchtime. There is no exterior sign indicating its location, so just look for the small Khana Sutra Indian restaurant next door. The interior decor has ceilings of huge wooden beams, giant plants, and candlelight and a great selection of music sets the stage for a romantic evening. Prices are 350B ($12 USD) for main courses. MasterCard and Visa are accepted. Reservations are recommended. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday; 6:30PM- 10:30PM. Ka Jok See is located at 26 Takua Pa Rd, Phuket Town, and is a short walk from central Rasada Rd, Phuket Town. Their phone number is 07621-7903.
 
Baan Rim Pa features indoor dining in a more intimate setting or outdoor dining on its terraces with breathtaking views of the bay. When visitors are seeking a more upscale restaurant serving authentic Royal Thai cuisine, Baan Rim Pa is one of the most popular stops on the island. Because of its popularity, be sure to reserve your table early. Executive Chef Jaree is a totally "hands on" chef and she and her team continue provide quality Royal Thai cuisine of the highest standards. Particular emphasis is placed on wonderful, fresh seafood dishes that perfectly complement this island location. Panaeng Ped (duck curry with lychee) and Goong Sarong (prawns hand-wrapped in vermicelli and quickly fried) are highlights of Baan Rim Pa's Royal Thai menu. The piano bar features live music every evening. Prices are from 345B-645B ($12 USD - $22 USD). Major credit cards are accepted. Hours are 1:00PM- Midnight daily. Reservations are required. Baan Rim Pa is located on the cliffs just north of Patong Beach, Patong at 223 Kalim Beach Rd, Patong, Phuket, 83150, Thailand. The official currency in Phuket, Thailand is the baht. In Phuke there are currency exchange counters everywhere. You can also change cash and travelers cheques in most banks. In addition, there are plenty of ATM's so you can withdraw cash from a credit card. Major Credit cards are widely accepted in the tourist areas.
