Almond Tree Restaurant is a two-story cliff-top establishment built around a massive tree provides magnificent ambience for a sunset dinner. Candlelit dinners are served indoors in the nicely appointed dining room or alfresco atop a 30-foot terrace which looks down over the Caribbean. The menu ranges from fresh seafood and continental fare to spicy Jamaican dishes. The wait staff is known to be just a tad slow, so you may want to plan in advance for your dinner at the Almond Tree to be your only activity for the evening. Prices for main dishes range from $8-$25USD. Hours: daily from 7:00 am to 9:30 pm. The Almond Tree Restaurant is located at the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel, 83 Main St., Ocho Rios. Evita's Italian Restaurant is the place to go for pasta and fun. It is owned by Eva Myers, who at one time or another has owned some of the most legenday bars in Montego Bay. Pastas include almost every variety known to northern and southern Italy. The fish dishes are exceptional -- especially the snapper stuffed with crabmeat and the lobster and scampi in a delicate white-cream sauce. Prices for main courses are US$12-US$23 (£6-£13). The Jamaican Dollar is the official currency. Many vendors will accept American dollars but you will always get Jamaican dollars in return. Traveler's checks and credit cards are also widely accepted.
