New Orleans Restaurant Guide

New Orleans is considered to be one of the most distinctive cities in America. If you've ever taken a glimpse at the ornate wrought iron work, or traveled about Jackson Square, or had opportunity to view Spanish Moss draped from the limbs of Live Oaks, then you may understand the feeling of this town. Hear the music drift out into Bourbon Street in the early evening, and let this venerable old town capture your imagination. None of this is hard to do, because, after all, New Orleans is "The Big Easy." By all, means, take time to sample Creole cuisine. Have a "po' boy," enjoy oysters on the half shell with a dash of Tobasco fresh horseradish, and by all means relish the home made beignets with a cup of chickory coffee at Cafe du Monde. You'll be ever so glad you did!

Popular Restaurants in New Orleans:

The Acme Oyster House, located in the French Quarter at 724 Iberville Street, has been a tradition in New Orleans for over 80 years. It's a place where you can experience seafood dishes uniquely "Big Easy," such as po' boys, Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, and Etouffee! And don't forget the oysters! Menu prices range from as little as 5.50 USD for soup to up to 23 USD for platters, and it is ALL heavenly! Acme is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM Mondays through Thursdays, and from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM Fridays and Saturday. You can call them at 504-522-5973, or visit http://www.acmeoyster.com/.

Another place that must be experienced is Cafe du Monde, and we especially want to direct you to the one across from Jackson Square at 800 Decatur St. This venue has been around since 1862, and is THE PERFECT SPOT to enjoy any of their coffees! Beignets, a square French pastry well loved in new Orleans, are the other treats to try. The du Monde is open 24 hours a day. You can call them at 504-525-4544, or visit http://cafedumonde.com/main.html.

Court of Two Sisters, at 613 Royal Street, is another incredible place to dine in New Orleans! You can actually dine in the courtyard, which is a splendid example of this town's enchanting architecture! The jazz buffet, which is advertised daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, includes live music and a menu chock full of Creole wonders and Southern comfort food. Crawfish and Spinach Pasta, Home-made Pates, Seaffod Mousse, barbecue pork ribs, Veal Grillades and gravy with grits, home-made biscuits, locally made French bread, Bread Pudding and Whiskey Sauce, and home made Pecan Pie. Creole a la Carte entrees are served for dinner from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Starters range from 10 to 13 USD, and main courses are from 25 to 25 USD. This place has been around since Moby Dick was a minnow, consistently offers epicurean cuisine at reasonable prices, and is also a treat to the eye! Hence, reservations are essential. You can call them at 504-522-7261, or visit http://courtoftwosisters.com/?nav=home.
The official currency is the U.S. dollar. All major credit cards and travelers checks are accepted in most locations.
