Kauai Restaurant Guide

When visiting the islands of Hawaii, you have that remarkable opportunity to savor wonderful fresh produce, such as macadamia nuts, papayas, onions, breadfruit, hearts of palm, guava, and taro. Coffee's grown here, so coffee lovers, get ready for paradise! "Plate lunches," akin to the bento boxes from Japan, typically offer rice, a "mac salad," and a meat entree, such as seafood, beef teriyaki, or kalua pork. Sweets include pastries such as manju, and shaved ice with flavored syrup are a "must try" on a hot day! One thing to remember when visiting Kauai is the simple fact that beaches and points of interest can be remote, so you will want to pack a picnic unless otherwise provided by your shore excursions. The lychees you can purchase from roadside farmer/vendors and fresh cheese are a good idea!

Waterfalls, surfboards, and other kitsch with Hawaiian themes surround you at Keoki's Paradise. They specialize in fresh fish prepared in a variety of tantalizing ways... Selections include fish baked with macadamia nuts, ginger, and orange zest, seared in lime viniagrette, and grilled. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and is located at 360 Kiahuna Plantation Dr., Koloa. Aloha Diner, located at 971 F Kuhio Highway, Kapaa, Kauai, gets some great feedback for serving authentic island fare, including poi, laulau (pork or chicken wrapped in taro leaves), lomi salmon, and kalua pork. Locals love the place, so it's highly likely you will, too. Aloha is also considered to be kid friendly. Main courses typically average in price at 20 USD.
