Daily specials feature fresh local seafood. Try salt-and-native-pepper crocodile and prawns with Vietnamese pickles and lemon aspen sambal, chargrilled kangaroo sirloin with a quandong chili glaze, sweet potato fritter, and bok choy, or maybe a Queensland ostrich filet with refried kipfler potatoes, crisp pancetta, and green beans. Perrotta's at the Gallery is a great place to stop for a bite to eat at the Cairns Regional Art Gallery (the cafe is just outside). For lunch, there's bruschettas, focaccia, panini, and pasta dishes, plus barbecued Cajun Spanish mackerel with tomato and basil salad. Here chef and co-owner Masa puts a modern spin on classic French dishes: enjoy his creamy seafood risotto with tiger prawns, squid, and scallops; roasted duck breast in orange or port-wine sauce; grilled barramundi; or grain-fed tenderloin; or experience the flavorful half-lobster as you take in 180-degree views of the marina, inlet, mountains, and ocean.
