EDITOR NOTE: Positano, Italy is a popular excursion for cruises calling on Amalfi. For your convenience, we are providing restaurant recommendations for Positano in addition to Amalfi.
Positano, located on the coast of Italy's Campania Region, will be at least one place on your journey where you'll have to try the seafood. Anchovies are fresh or home cured here, and Frutti di Mare (seafood) on linguine or capellini is food for the angels (it's so heavenly). In Campania, frienno magnanno refers directly to "fry and eat." The technique implies freshness, as opposed to greasiness, and your fried entrees are prepared with this in mind! Buffalo mozzarella is highly favored here, and is quite delicious. Sorrento Ovale, medium to large lemons, are quite popular, and Campania is absolutely THE REGION to imbibe in lemoncello!
