Port Stanley Cruise Destination Guide

Port Stanley port is located on the Falkland Islands, an archipelago 250 nautical miles from South America. Since the British again established rule of the islands since 1833, it's been a source of contention for Argentina, which culminated into the invasion and undeclared (but fought) war in 1982. Despite these events in the 20th century, the Falklands are just lovely.

Fishing is a main business, and when you see the penguins on the shores, the rolling bucolic landscapes, and the picturesque towns, you'll completely understand why tourism is also a main concern. When visiting the Falkland Islands, look forward to observing penguin colonies, tea and cookies in a farm kitchen, and touring Stanley and the battlefields. The Falklands are memorable because of the character and traditions of the people, and because of the incredible natural beauty you'll find just about everywhere you look.
