Considered to be the oldest living city in Romania, Constanta was the place where the poet, Ovid, was exiled by Emperor Augustus in 8th century AD. In the early 20th century, Constanta was one of the havens for the beautiful people in Europe, and the Art Nouveau Casino and elegant resort life was all the rage. A change in government pretty much put Constanta off limits for decades, but now it's possible for you to enjoy this lovely area rich in history and culture.
