Caldera Cruise Destination Guide

A small town located near Golfo de Nicoya in the northern Puntarenas province, Caldera port is well situated for shore excursions that explore rain forests, rivers, and countryside unique to this Central Pacific coastal area. Look forward to canopy tours, and boat rides down jungle rivers where you might just spy herons, egrets, macaws, and crocodiles!

Tropical train rides and countryside coach excursions are also available. Costa Rica is becoming known for conservation efforts, so you should have a number of eco tours among your selections. While the cruise terminal is very basic in amenities, it may help to know that you're in an area with history dating from the 16th century, and you're about to explore terrain a bit less crowded by tourists!
