Amsterdam Cruise Destination Guide

Amsterdam is the largest city in the Netherlands and the capital of this country. Its name is derived from its origin as a dam on the Amstel River, and its oldest record in its history dates back to the late 13th century. Boasting 60 miles of canal travel, Amsterdam is comprised of everything from exquisite art, numerous museums, buildings well representative of 15th, 17th, and 18th century architecture, 17th century canals that are UNESCO World Heritage sites, and one of the raciest and most notorious red light districts in the world! Shore excursions include city tours, canal cruises, and visits to museums (such as the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank Museum). Amsterdam is an incredible city, so large and so full of variety that it may well be worth your while to visit a night or two longer!
