Liberty of the Seas Pools, Waterslides, and Sunbathing

The Pools:

On Deck 11, the Liberty of the Seas has 3 separately designated pool areas. The Solarium pool area, is for adults. It is flanked by two cantilevered whirlpools, which extend twelve feet from either side of the ship. Each whirlpool holds sixteen people. The Main pool area also has a dedicated sports pool region for playing games such as pole jousting, synchronized swimming, and volleyball. For the sports pool, certain times may be designated for swimming laps. The main pool for general use is port side and mid ship, and the sports pool is starboard and mid ship. Aft of the pools is Splashaway Bay, which is a waterpark just for kids. This area has slides, a bucket drencher, a pool, and interactive spray toys for the younger set. All pools have desalinated  and purified sea water.

The Waterslides (and FlowRider):

The Perfect Storm twin waterslides -the Cyclone and Typhoon- spiral out over the ocean. Of these two, the green slide includes a bit of a light show and is definitely faster than the orange one. On the Liberty of the Seas, Tidal Wave is the most thrilling. This metal slide is a tube for two people, and includes a heart dropping descent, then a rise up over the ocean! On the Flow Rider, you body board or surf on a wave of water (traveling at the rate of 30,000 gallons a minute)! The waterslides and the FlowRider are aft on Deck 13.

Liberty of the Seas Pool & Sunbathing Tips:

  • Babies & Infants in Pools: Royal Caribbean's official policy is "no swim diapers, children must be potty trained." The Adventure Ocean Program stresses this point to all the families that bring their kids. We have not heard reports on whether the policy is strictly enforced.
  • Adult is defined for pool purposes as anybody 16 and over.
  • Lounge chairs are predominantly around the pool areas on Deck 12 of the Liberty of the Seas.
  • For the Tidal Weight, the combined weight of two riders must range from 200 to 450 lbs. Riders must be at least 52" tall, and the weight range is 75 to 280 lbs.
  • The minimum height for the Perfect Storm duo is 48", and the maximum weight is 300 lbs.
