Carnival Dream Pool, Water Slides, and Sunbathing

The Carnival Dream has two saltwater pools. There are fresh water showers provided for rinsing off.

CL_DR_CL_DR_Waves_Midship_Pool_093The Carnival Dream's main pool is The Waves Pool, which is located in the mid ship on Lido Deck (Deck 10). The Waves Pool is 30' by 16', and is 4'6" deep. The main pool features two whirlpool spas, and is positioned below the Carnival Seaside Theater's 270 square foot LED for Dive In movies. The TV runs most of the day and features sporting events, music videos, and in the evening, movies. With a 70,000 watt sound system, there have been complaints that the TV can be quite loud. At the opposite end of the Waves Pool is a stage where, during most hours of the day, there is some activity going on -- anything from a Caribbean band to a member of the ship's staff leading an activity or game. Typically, the Waves Pool hours are from 9 AM to 8 PM.

CL_DR_Lanai_003Located behind The Gathering Restaurant on the Lido Deck (Deck 10) is The Sunset Pool. The Sunset Pool is smaller, and has a retractable roof. This pool is 21' by 16', and is 4'6" deep. There are two whirlpools by The Sunset Pool as well. This pool area is ostensibly designated as adults only, but Carnival's enforcement of this policy is rather haphazard. Typically, the Sunset Pool opens at 8 AM and closes at midnight.

The adult's only Serenity area on the Carnival Dream is located on Decks 14 (Sun Deck) and 15 (Sky Deck). This area features two whirlpools.

The Waterworks is located on Spa Deck (Deck 12).  Here, there are mini racing slides for kids, a 500 gallon Dump Bucket, an 82' double lane racing slide, and the Drainpipe bowl slide. This area also features The Twister, which is a thrilling three deck high tube waterslide that boasts corkscrew turns. The Carnival Dream's WaterWorks offers fun in the sun under various whimsical water spouting devices, and typically operates from 10 AM to 5 PM on days at sea.

Carnival Dream Pool Tips:

  • When arriving in the pool area, you will need to sign-out a towel. There will be a 22 USD charge per towel to your on board account for each towel you fail to return. These are sturdy towels and if you want to purchase one, you can from the order form in your room.
  • Babies & Infants in Pools: Carnival's official policy is no swim diapers, children must be potty trained. Camp Ocean stresses this point to all the families that bring their kids. We have not heard reports on whether the policy is strictly enforced.
  • While Carnival does its best to discourage this, sunbathers do show-up at 8 AM on board the Carnival Dream and try to hog the lounge chairs for the day.
  • At the adults only Sunset Pool, drink service is available, as are comfy chaise lounges, hammocks, and sun loungers that are shaded. There are also two whirlpools overlooking the sea in the upper lever. Given the adults-only policy for the Sunset Pool, and the fact that there is no live music in the Sunset Pool area, this is your better bet for a more quiet pool area on board the Carnival Dream.
