Zuiderdam Main Dining Room

The Vista Dining Room

Holland_food_salmonThis two tiered main dining room onboard the Zuiderdam is located on Lower Promenade Deck. Large glass windows allow for great views while you enjoy your meal. The entrance to the Vista dining room is located on the Zuiderdam's Promenade Deck (Deck 4).

Breakfast is served in the main dining room from 7:00am to 10:00am, and, lunch is served from noon to 2:30pm. Breakfast and lunch are open-seating. For dinner, the early dinner time is 5:45pm and 6:15pm, and, the main dinner time is 7:45pm and 8:15pm.

Holland America Line does offer As You Wish Dining where you can show-up at any during the dinner hours and be seated as a table comes available. However, it is advised that you inform the Maître D' of your preferred dining time prior to 4 PM. You can choose As You Wish Dining when you book your cruise. Once on the ship, any guest is welcome to ask the Maître D' for a preferred dining time and they will do their best to accomodate your request.

Cuisine in the Zuiderdam's Main Dining Room

The Vista dining room's menu includes vegetarian selections, four appetizers, at least five main entrees including pastas, salads, beef, chicken, the occasional lamb or lobster dish, and vegetarian options. Salmon entrees are a mainstay on Alaskan cruises. Desserts, by most accounts tempting, vary daily. Chef recommended fare and New Holland's Greenhouse Spa Cuisine are highlighted on the menu.

Tips for the Zuiderdam's main dining room:

  • Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 10:00am.

  • Reservations for dinner are anticipated.
  • For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, casual clothing is OK, but no sweatpants, swim wear or shorts. You'll be most comfortable in elegant attire for formal evenings.
  • Meals are no cost, but special beverages, wines, beer, and soft drinks may be purchased via current bar menu. When ordering steaks and other meats, specify your grilling preference.
  • While the main dining room of the Holland America Zuiderdam offers meals with positive reviews, you'll find the best of gourmet cuisine on your voyage at The Pinnacle Grill.

As You Wish Dining onboard Holland America Zuiderdam Cruise:

Throughout your Holland America Zuiderdam cruise, you'll be able to savor cuisine as you wish on your time! From 5:15pm to 9:00pm, the main dining room provides first come, first serve seating on the first floor of the Vista. There may be a wait time before seating. When you are booking your cruise, you'll have the option to reserve Early Dining, Main Dining, or As You Wish Dining. Once aboard, you can make reservations for the Vista until 4:00pm.
