Norwegian Gem Main Dining Rooms
Norwegian Cruise Line created Freestyle Dining -- a flexible approach to dining in the restaurant of your choice, at a time convenient for you. You can almost always show up without a reservation and be seated right away when the Magenta and the Grand Pacific are open.
Magenta:
The Magenta on the Norwegian Gem is located on Deck 6. Magenta is the smaller main dining room. Light, healthy cuisine is the specialty here, but generally there's something for just about every appetite. Starters include crab dip, fruit, and soups such as chilled apple bisque and beet soup. Entrees featured in the Magenta dining room on the Norwegian Gem include grilled salmon, lean burgers, and fusilli pasta and barbecued pork are among main entrees featured on the lunch menu, and for dinner expect to find beef, fish, poultry, and vegetarian selections. For dessert you will find pies, berries served in Grand Marnier sauce, fruit, and ice cream among your choices.
The Grand Pacific:
The Grand Pacific dining room on the Norwegian Gem is aft on Deck 6. The decor of Grand Pacific takes you back to the dining elegance of the Matson Line Ships, which sailed to Hawaii. The Grand Pacific is the larger, more elegant main dining room where you can expect a menu which will include traditional favorites as well as more contemporary cuisine. The Norwegian Gem's Grand Pacific restaurant receives some very strong guest reviews, particularly from Bahamas cruisers.
