Caribbean Princess Main Dining Rooms

The Island and Coral Dining Rooms:

Princess_dining_chef_demoThe Island Dining Room is located aft on Plaza Deck (Deck 5), and the Coral Dining Room is situated mid ship on Fiesta Deck (Deck 6). One of these dining rooms provides lunch on sea days, as well as breakfast, afternoon tea, and supper. It should be noted that both of these dining rooms are open for Anytime diners for supper. Anytime dining typically begins at 7:30 PM, after traditional early dining guests have been seated (beginning at 5:30 PM). Late traditional dining begins at 8:00 PM.

For breakfast, your menu will feature basics that are basic options every day, as well as a rotating menu. Basics include continental fare, egg dishes, pancakes and smoked salmon with bagels. Eggs Benedict, grilled minute steak with eggs, and smoked haddock with potatoes exemplify entrees on the rotating menu.

For lunch on sea days, expect brunch entrees, salads, soups, burgers, grilled chicken, and fried perch. Cobblers, ice cream, and bread pudding exemplify dessert options.

From 3:00 to 4:00 PM, Afternoon Tea consists of pastries, finger sandwiches, cookies, and (of course) a selection of teas.

The supper menu always features Princess Favorites, such as grilled salmon, a beef burger, chicken, and standard appetizers that include Caesar Salad and shrimp cocktail. The rotating menu might include lobster, veal scallopini, Beef Wellington, shrimp in cream sauce, and pot roast. Features, "Crafted by Curtis Stone," are occasionally on the rotating menu. These favorites by Chef Stone include Chilean Sea Bass, and chicken and leek pie.

The Palm Dining Room:

The Palm is reserved for suite guests and Club mini-suites. This dining room, located aft on Fiesta Deck (Deck 6), offers reserved seating only (5:45 PM and 8:00 PM). The menus at the Palm are the same as they are for the Island and Coral main dining rooms.

Guest Reviews of the Caribbean Princess' Main Dining Rooms

  • The Caribbean Princess' main dining rooms receive strong positive guest reviews for food quality and variety.
  • While most past cruisers on the Caribbean Princess give very positive reviews for staff service, some have reported that the restaurants can be under-staffed during peak hours, and service at these times may be slow.
  • Send us your review of the Caribbean Princess Main Dining Rooms! We need your thoughts on what you liked about the restaurant, and, what you think could be improved. Use the form at the bottom of this page to let us know your impressions.

Tips for the main dining rooms on Caribbean Princess:

  • Reservations can be made after booking your cruise by contacting Princess at www.princess.com or call 800-774-6237. Contact Princess for any changes you wish to make no later than 3 weeks before sailing, but keep in mind that changes must be honored on a first come, first serve basis. After changes have been requested and when you are aboard ship, confirm with your Maitre D' within your first 24 hours, and staff will as much as possible try to accommodate you.
  • For special dietary concerns, Princess needs your requests in writing no later than 6 weeks before you sail, and these requests need to be confirmed once you're aboard with the Maitre D' within 24 hours. Go to the Cruise Personalizer on the Princess website to specify dietary preferences.
  • Bare feet, jeans, shorts, tank tops, and swim wear are not permitted. For gentlemen, smart casual such as slacks and polo style shirts are more appropriate at dinner time. For formal nights, you'll be most comfortable in elegant attire.
  • Meals are no cost, but special beverages, wines, beer, and soft drinks may be purchased at current bar menu prices.
  • When ordering steaks and other meats, specify your grilling preference.
  • For Anytime Dining, expect a 20 to 40 minute wait time unless prior arrangements are made with the Maitre 'D that day.

Princess Cruises Personal Choice Dining on the Caribbean Princess

Personal Choice Dining is available in the Coral and Island Dining Rooms from 5:30pm to 10:00pm for dinner. After booking, specify your selection for Personal Choice Dining or traditional evening reservations. Once aboard, you may opt to call in your reservations for Personal Choice Dining in the morning, or just show up. Expect a wait time of 5 to 15 minutes. You will experience less wait time if you show up earlier than 6:00pm. On formal nights, and in the evenings after 8:00pm, your wait time will likely be longer. You will receive a beeper and approximate wait time from staff when you arrive for dinner. Overall, many guests have opted to just show up and have reported positive dining experiences which have included minimal wait times. Dress codes for main dining rooms apply.
