Norwegian Jade Main Dining Rooms: The Alizar and The Grand Pacific

Norwegian Cruise Line created Freestyle Dining -- a flexible approach to dining in the restaurant of your choice, at the time that is convenient for you. The main dining rooms on the Norwegian Jade are The Alizar and The Grand Pacific. You can almost always show up without a reservation and be seated right away.

The Alizar:

The Norwegian Jade's Alizar restaurant is located midship on Deck 6. The Alizar is the smaller dining room. Generally, there's something for just about every appetite. Starters include crab dip, fruit, and soups such as chilled apple bisque and beet soup. Grilled salmon, lean burgers, and fusilli pasta and barbecued pork are among main entrees featured on the lunch menu, and for dinner expect beef, fish, poultry, and vegetarian selections. For dessert you'll find pies, berries served in Grand Marnier sauce, fruit, and ice cream among your choices in the Alizar dining room onboard Norwegian Jade.

The Grand Pacific:

The Grand Pacific dining room on the Norwegian Jade is located aft on Deck 6. The Grand Pacific is the larger main dining room. For dinner in either main dining room, look for six main entrees which remain constant, and three nightly specials which vary. Greek salads, baked shrimp, and French Onion Soup exemplify starters, and traditional main entree favorites include Grilled New York Strip Steak, baked chicken breast, and roasted salmon. Vegetarian Lasagna and Chicken Piccata with Gnocchi are among entrees for more adventuresome palates. Desserts in the Grand Pacific restaurant onboard Norwegian Jade include sherbet, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and pies.

Tips for the Norwegian Jade's main dining rooms:

• Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 9:00am, lunch is from noon to 2:30pm, and dinner hours are from 5:30pm to midnight. Only one main dining room is open for breakfast and lunch, and you can determine that by checking the Freestyle dining option daily.
• Bare feet, jeans, shorts, tank tops, and swim wear are not permitted. As a rule, shorts and jeans are not permitted after 6:00pm. For gentlemen, smart casual such as slacks and polo style shirts are more appropriate at dinner time.
• Meals are no cost, but special beverages, wines, beer, and soft drinks may be purchased via current bar menu.
• When ordering steaks and other meats, specify your grilling preference. If you enjoy your steaks at perfect medium temperature, you may want to order medium rare as the kitchen tends to err on the side of caution.

• Both main dining rooms onboard Norwegian Jade have recently received average to good reviews for food quality.
• Based upon past guest response, the Alizar as the smaller of the two main dining rooms can be a quieter location for dining. You'll avoid a bit of clatter if you are seated at a table away from the serving stations in the Grand Pacific.
• On recurring complaint is the limited selection of the main dining room menus. Given the ample options in Norwegian Jade's Alternative Dining Restaurants, it should come as no surprise that NCL might want you to encourage you to pay the per-person surcharge to get more dinner options.

NCL Freestyle Dining on the Norwegian Jade

Throughout your Norwegian Jade cruise, you'll be able to savor cuisine as you wish on your time! From 5:45pm to midnight, both main dining rooms provide first come, first serve seating.
