Norwegian Sky Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary

Best Cabins on the Norwegian Sky are staterooms and suites on Decks 7 and 9.

Cabins to be wary of on the Norwegian Sky are accommodations on Decks 4, 5, 8, and 10.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Norwegian Sky

Deck 4

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Biscayne Deck on the Norwegian Sky has cabins above on Atlantic Deck in the forward section. This creates a nice buffer from the noises public areas can generate. However, the rest of the staterooms are beneath public areas, so we cannot rule out the possibility of noise in these cabins.

  • Forward, Oceanview Staterooms 4001- 4004 port side, 4201- 4204 starboard, and interior cabins 4101- 4103 and 4301- 4303 do have cabins above them. These could be more quiet cabins as a result. However, all of the interior cabins are either by the stairwell or elevators which could mean a noise concern. These are the least preferred of interior staterooms on Biscayne Deck of the Norwegian Sky.
  • The rest of the staterooms on Deck 4 on the Norwegian Sky are under public areas, including a cafe and two restaurants, so there could be noise during dining hours and when staff are busy with cleaning and preparation for service.

Deck 5

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Deck 5 staterooms on the Norwegian Sky are all situated forward. There is an area above that is not accessible to the public that could be a noise source in most of the cabins on this deck.

  • The only staterooms we recommend on this deck are Ocean View Staterooms 5008 and 5009 port side and 5207 and 5208 starboard.

Deck 6- Oslo Deck

Oslo Deck, grouped with Promenade Deck cabins, is actually tucked between Decks 6 and 7 on the Norwegian Sky. There are staterooms above and no public areas below Oslo Deck, and this helps to insure that accommodations here are more quiet.

  • Please note that this deck does not have direct access to elevators, and this could be a difficulty for persons with walking concerns and for persons who use wheelchairs.
  • Interior Staterooms 6101, 6102, 6302, and 6301 are below the vicinity of Splash Academy. Noise while the center is open could be an issue in these staterooms.
  • There are 22 Ocean View Staterooms and 26 Interior Staterooms from which to choose on Oslo Deck of the Norwegian Sky.

Deck 7

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Some Cabins Highly rated by our cruise experts!

In the majority of staterooms on the International Deck of the Norwegian Sky are going to be relatively quiet because there are cabins on the decks above and beneath. However, adult travelers seeking a bit of peace and quiet during the day need to know that there's a video arcade and a children's area most forward on this deck, so we suggest that you avoid that area.

  • On Deck 7 of the Norwegian Sky, Ocean View Staterooms 7001 and 7201, and Interior Staterooms 7101 and 7301 might be perfect for parents traveling with children because these cabins are very close to Splash Academy. However, these staterooms are not recommended for those who are looking for a quiet location.
  • Interior Staterooms 7101- 7104 and 7301- 7304 share walls with the video arcade. Noise from the arcade could be of concern in any of these staterooms.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Stateroom 7201 is next to a public bathroom. Noise could be an issue in this cabin as a result.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 7002- 7012 port side and 7202- 7212 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 7110, 7111, 7311, and 7312 are, in our opinion, well situated for cruising.

Deck 8

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Along most of this deck, a main drag of the Norwegian Sky is right beneath your cabin. The venues below that could cause some noise issues are the casino, bars, and the aft lounge.

  • Forward, Owner's Suites 8001 and 8201 each have 835 total sq. ft. with a 353 sq. ft. balcony, and are the most spacious accommodations on Deck 8 of the Norwegian Sky. We do advise that views from forward balconies are likely very breezy unless there's a tailwind. The video arcade is directly below the suites, however.
  • Penthouse Suites 8002 and 8202 are also most forward and will probably have windy balcony views!
  • On the Viking Deck of the Norwegian Sky, there are several cabins over the mid ship casino and bar, where there could be some late night noise concerns. These are exterior staterooms 8032- 8047 port side, 8232- 8247 starboard, and interior cabins 8122- 8133 and 8323- 8334. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to look for another stateroom elsewhere, bring along earplugs, or invest in a wave machine.
  • Interior Staterooms 8112, 8113, 8313, 8314, 8118- 8121, 8319- 8322, 8148, 8149, 8349, and 8350 are nearby areas where there could be noise issues on Deck 8 of the Norwegian Sky.
  • Best cabins on Deck 8 of the Norwegian Sky are exterior staterooms 8004- 8016 and 8051- 8061 port side, 8204- 8216 and 8251- 8259 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 8107- 8110, 8308- 8311, 8137- 8145, 8339- 8341, and 8344- 8346. These are all above more quiet areas on Deck 7 of the Norwegian Sky.
Inside cabins 8158 and 8359 are more spacious than standard.
  • Staterooms over the aft lounge are 8065- 8079 port side through aft, 8265- 8280 starboard through aft, and interior cabins 8148- 8158, and 8349- 8359. This will likely not be a concern late at night, but travelers in these staterooms might hear some noise during performances, as well as before and after shows when staff are either preparing for or cleaning up following a show.
  • Aft on the Viking Deck of the Norwegian Sky, Penthouse Suites 8077 and 8277 have balconies where there will be less breezy ocean views.
  • Tucked between the Penthouse Suites, Aft Balcony Staterooms (8078, 8079, 8080, 8279, and 8278) will also have awesome views from the balconies.
  • While we are not suggesting this deck be avoided, some of the worst cabins are on the Viking Deck of the Norwegian Sky. We do suggest you look for other, more quiet cabins on this or other decks.

Deck 9

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

The Fjord Deck of the Norwegian Sky has the added advantage of cabin decks above and beneath which filter out noise public areas can generate! Of the decks with luxurious suites, Deck 9 is likely going to be more quiet. Also, if you're looking for your choice of balcony cabins or inside staterooms, you've found a great deck! Some of the best cabins on the Norwegian Sky are generally on Deck 9.

  • Forward on the Norwegian Sky, Owner's Suites 9001 and 9201 offer the most spacious accommodations on Deck 9. However, unless there's a tailwind, balcony views from this vantage point are going to be breezy!
  • Penthouse Suites 9002 and 9202 are also most forward on the Fjord Deck of the Norwegian Sky.
  • On the Fjord Deck of the Sky, inside cabins 9123, 9314, 9124, 9315, 9125, 9316, 9158, 9350, 9159, and 9351 are all located by elevators and could have noise issues.
  • Deck 9 of the Sky features balcony staterooms port side (9012- 9068) and starboard (9212- 9268).
  • Aft, Penthouse Suites 9075 and 9275 are well situated. Views from these balconies are gorgeous (and less windy)!
  • Balcony staterooms 9076, 9077, 9078, 9277, and 9276 are located between the aft Penthouse Suites and have that highly sought view of the ocean on Deck 9 of the Norwegian Sky!

Deck 10

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

The Norwegian Sky's Deck 10 is located beneath the Pool Deck, which could be a great place for a stateroom for those who plan to sunbathe and enjoy casual dining. However, it's important to remember that many of the cabins on Norway Deck are under some of the busiest public venues on this ship!

  • Exterior staterooms 0201- 0212 starboard and Interior Staterooms 0301- 0308 are in a more quiet area on the Norwegian Sky's Deck 10.
  • Exterior staterooms 0001A- 0012 port side and inside cabins 0101- 0109 are beneath the fitness center. Noise while this facility is open to guests and staff could be of concern in any of these staterooms.
  • Interior Staterooms 0108 and 0109 are beneath public bathrooms by the Pulse Fitness Center. Noise, such as hearing water rush through pipes, could be an issue in these cabins.
  • Mid ship on Deck 10 of the Norwegian Sky, exterior staterooms 0013- 0037 port side, 0213- 0236 starboard, and inside cabins 0010- 0127 and 0309- 0326 are all under the pool area. Noise could be a problem in any of these staterooms, especially the Interior Staterooms.
  • Exterior staterooms 0038- 0066 port side through aft and 0236- 0067 starboard through aft, and Interior Staterooms 0128- 0152, 0327- 0350, 0145, 0146, 0345, 0148, 0147, 0346, 0153, 0154, and 0351 are beneath bars, the Entourage Teen Club, the Garden Cafe, and the Great Outdoors. Noise could be an issue in any of these staterooms.
  • Aft, Penthouse Suites 0064 and 0264 each have that majestic (less breezy) ocean view.
  • On Deck 10 of the Sky, balcony staterooms 00650, 0066, 0067, 0266, and 0265 are between the Penthouse Suites and also have that beautiful (less breezy) view of the ocean.
