Carnival Carnival Victory Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary

Best Cabins on the Carnival Victory are staterooms and suites on Deck 7 and 9.

Cabins to be wary of on the Carnival Victory are staterooms on Decks 2,6, 8, and 10.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Carnival Victory

Deck 1 -- Riviera Deck

Cabins on Deck 1 of the Carnival Victory have cabins above them that buffer noise from public areas. However, beneath these staterooms are the mechanical components of the ship -such as the engine and propeller systems.

  • If you have an Ocean View Stateroom or an Interior Stateroom in the most forward section of Riviera Deck on the Carnival Victory, you will likely hear noise during rough seas.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms 1351 and 1353 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • There are staff service areas located between 1256 and 1258 port side, and between 1257 and 1259 starboard. When staff are busy, there could be noise in these cabins.
  • On the Carnival Victory's Riviera Deck, propeller vibration could be an issue in cabins 1402-1437 (in the stern / rear of the ship). If you are looking for an Ocean View Stateroom, other Carnival Victory decks have these with balconies and minus propeller vibration.
  • Cabins 1402 and 1405 are next to elevators and hence could be a bit noisier than other cabins on Deck 1 of the Carnival Victory.

Deck 2 -- Main Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems

Deck 2  on the Carnival Victory is right beneath major public areas on the ship, such as the main dining rooms, the main lounge, and the ship's galley. Noise could be an issue in many of the cabins on this deck.

  • If you have an Ocean View Stateroom or an Interior Stateroom in the most forward section of Main Deck on the Carnival Victory, you will likely hear noise during rough seas.
  • If you are looking for an Ocean View Stateroom located forward on Main Deck, keep in mind the fact that 2201, 2202, 2207, and 2208 do not have a view.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 2220- 2266 port side and 2221- 2267 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 2224- 2268 and 2225- 2269 are beneath the Caribbean Main Lounge. Noise during rehearsals and performances could be problems in any of these cabins.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms 2365 and 2367 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry on Main Deck of the Carnival Victory. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 2288- 2300 port side and 2291- 2303 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 2290- 2302 and 2291- 2303 are beneath the Seven Seas Lobby. Noise could be a problem in any of these cabins.
  • On Main Deck of the Carnival Victory, Ocean View Staterooms 2312- 2352 and 2315- 2355, and Interior Staterooms 2314- 2354 and 2317- 2357 are beneath the Atlantic Main Dining Room. Noise while staff are cleaning, and when the dining room is serving, could be concerns in any of these cabins.
  • Staff service areas are located between 2360 and 2362 and between 2363 and 2365. Noise could be an issue in any of these cabins when staff are busy.
  • On Deck 2 of the Carnival Victory, Ocean View Staterooms 2360- 2412 port side and 2363- 2411 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 2384- 2404 and 2391- 2403, are beneath the ship's galley. Noise could be quite a problem in any of these cabins, and will very likely affect these Interior Staterooms!
  • Ocean View Staterooms 2414- 2462 port side and 2415- 2463 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 2418- 2450 and 2419- 2451, are beneath the Pacific Main Dining Room. Noise could be problematic in any of these staterooms when staff are cleaning, and when the dining room is open for meals.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 2444 and 2445 are a bit larger than standard.
  • On the Main Deck of the Carnival Victory, the exterior cabins in the aft of the ship (2455-2463) all have unique aft-facing views that are quite picturesque.

Deck 6 -- Upper Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems

Along this entire Upper Deck, be aware that the main drag of the ship is right beneath your feet -- including some areas that stay fairly noisy into the wee hours. This includes the stage, lounges and bars, a dance club, and the casino on the Carnival Victory.

  • In the forward section of Upper Deck on the Carnival Victory, Balcony Staterooms 6222- 6266 port side and 6223- 6267 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 6226- 6264 and 6227- 6265 are over the Caribbean Main Lounge. Noise during rehearsals and performances could be an issue in any of these cabins.
  • Interior Staterooms 6240, 6244, 6248, 6241, 6245, and 6249 are above an area of the Caribbean Main Lounge in which there are very loud speakers. Noise concerns are a distinct possibility in these staterooms.
  • On Deck 6 of the Carnival Victory, Balcony Staterooms 6270- 6284 port side and 6271- 6327 starboard are above the Fun Shops. This area is more quiet in comparison to other accommodations on this deck.
  • Starboard, Balcony Staterooms 6389 and 6391 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • Balcony Staterooms 6376- 6440 and 6401- 6467 and Interior Staterooms 6402- 6430 and 6429- 6457 are above venues that can produce significant noise from the late night action. While we are not suggesting that this deck be avoided entirely, some of the worst cabins are on the Upper Deck of the Carnival Victory! If you are light sleeper, you may prefer a cabin elsewhere on the ship, or bring earplugs. You may also consider investing in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
  • Inside cabins 6402 and 6429 are right by elevators. Noise could be an issue in either of these cabins.
  • The aft Balcony Staterooms (6436, 6438, 6440, 6467, 6465, and 6463) all have either over-sized balconies and those highly sought after views (that are less windy).
  • Aft, Premium Balcony Staterooms 6434 and 6461 have the largest balconies on this deck!

Deck 7 -- Empress Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

The Empress deck is without question the best cabin deck on the Carnival Victory. This is where several luxury suites are located. With cabin decks above and below Empress Deck, noise from public venues is buffered. Given that this is where many suites are, this is also where the best cabin stewards are usually assigned. If you are seeking an Interior Stateroom, locating one near a suite on Deck 7 is a very smart investment. Some of the best cabins are on Deck 7 of the Carnival Victory!

  • Forward, 7206, 7204, 7202, 7201, 7203, and 7205 are Interior Staterooms with Picture Windows that are listed as having partially obstructed views.
  • While we recommend most of the Interior Staterooms on Deck 7 of the Carnival Victory, there are some you may want to avoid due to their proximity to staff service areas and staff storage areas. Port side, these are 7218 and 7224, 7260, 7276 and 7280, 7356, and 7384. Starboard, these are 7219 and 7223, 7235 and 7237, 7261, 7277, 7359, and 7387. Because 7394 shares part of a wall with an elevator, noise could be an issue in it as well.
  • Starboard, Balcony Staterooms 7339 and 7341 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • In our opinion the best situated Balcony Staterooms and Suites on Empress Deck of the Carnival Victory are as follows. Port side, we recommend 7208, 7212, 7228- 7258, 7282- 7326, 7358- 7378, 7392- 7412. Starboard, we suggest 7207, 7211, 7225, 7231, 7243- 7259, 7283- 7329, 7361- 7381, and 7401- 7415. The Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms (7424, 7426, 7428, 7430, 7433, 7431, 7429, and 7427) are also well located and provide beautiful ocean views.
  • On the Carnival Victory's Empress Deck, Interior Staterooms 7276-7332 port side, and 7277-7335 starboard are across the halls from Ocean View Balcony Suites and Grand Balcony suites.
  • If you love your balcony space, 7422 and 7425 aft on Deck 7 of the Carnival Victory come with spacious extended balconies. However, these Premium Vista Balcony Staterooms are both near stairwells from which noise could be an issue.

Deck 8 -- Verandah Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems

The Carnival Victory's Veranda Deck should be considered in two sections. One has cabins on the deck above it, and the other one has the pool, sunbathing, and dining area above it. While we recommend the cabins in the forward section of Deck 8, light sleepers may want to avoid booking a cabin

  • The Balcony Staterooms and Interior Staterooms that will have cabins above and beneath them are as follows. Balcony Staterooms are 8202- 8288 port side and 8201- 8289 starboard. The Interior Staterooms in this area are 8206- 8250, 8205- 8251, 8272- 8290, and 8273- 8291.
  • The cabins that are under the pools, the bars, and the dining venues including the Grand Buffet are Balcony Staterooms 8292- 8434 port side and aft, 8293- 8439 starboard and aft, and Interior Staterooms 8294- 8342, 8295- 8345, 8366- 8394, 8369- 8397, 8404- 8426, and 8407- 8431. The Interior Staterooms in this area are especially close to noise producing areas from the deck above, and are not recommended for light sleepers.
  • Starboard, Balcony Staterooms 8349 and 8351 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • We do suggest that cabins 8404 and 8407 be avoided should you not prefer to be right by an elevator.
  • Premium Balcony Staterooms 8422 and 8427 have extended balconies.
  • Premium Vista Balcony Staterooms 8428 and 8433 have the largest balconies on Deck 8 of the Carnival Victory.
  • 8430, 8432, 8434, 8439, 8437, and 8435 are Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms.

Deck 9 -- Lido Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Many of the staterooms and suites on Lido Deck have cabins above and beneath them that buffer noise from public areas. The other added advantage to having a cabin in the forward section of this deck on the Carnival Victory is the fact that you're close to the pools and eateries on Lido Deck! With a little careful planning, you can find great accommodations on this deck!

  • Forward on Deck 9 of the Carnival Victory, 9198, 9196, 9197, and 9199 are Scenic Ocean View Staterooms. Each provides 260 sq. ft. of living space and a floor to ceiling window for ocean views!
  • Scenic Grand Ocean View Staterooms 9200 and 9201 each offer 320 sq. ft. of living space and a floor to ceiling window for ocean views.
  • Captain's Suites 9202 and 9203 each provide 562 sq. ft. of living space that includes a 221 sq. ft. bedroom, and a 258 sq. ft. balcony!
  • Port side, Balcony Staterooms 9268 and 9270 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • Including the forward Scenic Ocean View and Scenic Grand Ocean View Staterooms, as well as the Captain's Suites, the other cabins that will have accommodations above and below them are Balcony Staterooms 9206- 9274 port side and 9205- 9273 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 9204- 9260 and 9209- 9259. All of these cabins are, in our opinion, the best situated for quiet cruising on Lido Deck of the Carnival Victory.
  • Balcony Staterooms 9206 and 9205 are accessible staterooms.
  • Balcony Staterooms 9276- 9294 port side and 9275- 9293 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 9286, 9292, 9285, and 9291, are all beneath the King of the Sea Pool area that includes plenty of deck chairs for sunbathing. Noise could be an issue in any of these staterooms while staff are cleaning, and when this pool area is open.
  • While there are doors to suppress some of the sound, cabins 9293 and 9294 are a bit close to the pool area. You might prefer to move farther forward on Deck 9 of the Carnival Victory.

Deck 10 -- Panorama Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems

Cabins on the Carnival Victory's Panorama Deck are close to the pool, spa, and gym facilities. There are no public areas below these cabins. However, several of these accommodations are under the fitness center and the youth center.

  • Forward, Interior Staterooms with a Picture Window -1004, 1002, 1001, and 1003- are beneath the fitness center. Noise could be problematic in these cabins when this facility is open. Also, 1002 is near a stairwell that could be a source of noise. Please note that all of these staterooms are listed as having obstructed views.
  • Port side, Balcony Staterooms 1006- 1046 are beneath the fitness center and the youth center. Noise could be a issue in these staterooms when these facilities are busy.
  • Interior Staterooms 1008, 1007, 1012, and 1011 are beneath the fitness center. Noise could be a concern in any of these cabins while the fitness center is in use.
  • Interior Staterooms 1036- 1048, while not directly under, are beneath the youth center. Noise could be an issue in these staterooms while this center is open.
  • Starboard, Balcony Staterooms 1005- 1023 are beneath the fitness center. Noise could be a concern while this facility is in use.
  • While there are doors to suppress the sound from the pool area, cabins 1066-1067 are a bit close to the pool area on Deck 10 of the Carnival Victory.

Deck 11 -- Spa Deck

The key feature of these cabins is that they are steps away from Spa Carnival.

  • Port side, Balcony Staterooms 1102- 1106 are under the children's pool area on Sun Deck. Noise might not be much of a concern late at night, but could be an issue while the pool is open.
  • Starboard, 1101- 1105 are beneath the Serenity hot tubs. Noise could be an issue in any of these staterooms until late at night.
  • The balconies of staterooms 1114 and 1115 are exposed to views from above.
  • Cabin 1102 is adjacent to Camp Carnival, which may be great for a family with children, but perhaps not everyone's first choice.
