Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Carnival Legend

Deck 1 -- Riviera Deck

Some cabins on this deck with potential problems

Riviera Deck on the Carnival Legend have several public venues on Promenade Deck above them, and some of these venues can cause noise late into the evening. Another concern is the fact that the the ship's engine rooms and propeller system is beneath this deck, so noise and vibration could be of concern in cabins located in the aft section of the Carnival Legend. While we are not suggesting this deck should be completely avoided, some of the worst cabins on the Carnival Legend are on the Riviera Deck! If you are light sleeper, you may prefer a cabin elsewhere, or bring earplugs. You may also consider investing in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).

• Forward, Ocean View Staterooms 1102- 1106 port side and 1101- 1105 starboard are in a high traffic area on Deck 1 of the Carnival Legend.
• On the Carnival Legend's Deck 1, cabins 1101 and 1102 are nearby the stairs and elevators by the forward lounge area. Noise could be an issue in these staterooms during rehearsals and performances.
• Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms 1101- 1105 are beneath public bathrooms. Noise -such as hearing water rushing through pipes- could be problematic in these cabins.
• Port side, Ocean View Staterooms 1110- 1136, and Interior Staterooms 1114- 1138, are beneath the Red Frog Pub. Noise could be of concern until late into the evening in any of these cabins.
• Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms 1107- 1137, and Interior Staterooms 1123- 1139, are beneath relatively quiet venues (e.g., card room, internet cafe, and Taste Bar). 
• Port side, Ocean View Staterooms 1140- 1148, and Interior Staterooms 1142- 1150, are beneath the sports bar. Noise until late into the evening could be an issue in any of these cabins.
• Ocean View Staterooms 1152- 1184 port side and 1151- 1205 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 1154- 1186 and 1153- 1207 are beneath the Club Merlin Casino. Noise until very late into the night could be of concern in any of these accommodations.
• Port side, Ocean View Staterooms 1188- 1232 are beneath Shore Excursions and Guest Services. These are quiet areas at night.
• Starboard, Ocean View staterooms 1219 and 1221 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be concerns in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
• Starboard Ocean View Staterooms 1209- 1253 and Interior Staterooms 1247- 1263 are beneath noisy venues to include the lobby area and a lounge. Noise until late into the evening could be an issue in any of these staterooms. 
• Aft on the Riviera Deck of the Carnival Legend, inside cabin 1263 and outside cabin 1265 are nearby the ship's galley. This may not pose too much of a concern at night, but could be a noise problem in the early morning hours.
• Aft cabin 1240 is close to the dance club. While this might not be a problem for some, there will likely be a bit of party noise to contend with for guests in this cabin.

Deck 4 -- Main Deck

Main Deck on the Carnival Legend is above Atlantic Deck, which is filled with public venues. However, there are going to be 

• Forward, 4102, 4104, 4101, and 4103 are Interior Staterooms. Each will offer approximately 170 sq. ft.
• Port side, 4102- 4110 are over the library and the chapel. This should be a relatively quiet area for an Interior Stateroom or an Obstructed View Interior Stateroom with French Doors.
• Port side, Obstructed View Interior Staterooms with French Doors 4112- 4124 are over the piano bar. While this bar is generally quiet during the day, noise might be of concern late at night.
• 4130- 4176 port side and 4131- 4179 starboard are over fairly quiet areas (e.g., the Fun Shops and the Photo Gallery). If you're seeking a quiet cabin on Deck 4 of the Carnival Legend, this is a good area!
• There are several Obstructed View Interior Staterooms with French Doors on Main Deck of the Carnival Legend. These are 4106- 4154 and 4188- 4202 port side, and 4105- 4155 and 4189- 4207 starboard. Please note that for most of these cabins, the lifeboats obstruct the view.
• Port side, 4202 shares a wall with a staff closet that is used for cleaning and storage. Noise could be an issue in this cabin as a result.
• Cabins 4203 and 4205 are right by elevators and are most likely going to be a bit noisy.
• Balcony Staterooms are 4156-4186 and 4204-4224 port side, and 4157-4187 and 4209-4231 starboard on Main Deck of the Carnival Legend.
• Aft on the Carnival Legend's Main Deck, Junior Suites 4226 and 4235 are roomier than standard cabins. However, each has a small balcony (20 sq. ft.) and a window that overlooks a staircase.
• Aft, 4228 and 4237 are Vista Suites on Deck 5 of the Carnival Legend. Each boasts 225 sq. ft. with a 220 sq. ft. balcony! 
• Aft View Extended Balcony Stateroom 4230 is across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat when the laundry is busy could be of concern in this cabin.
• Aft, 4230, 4232, 4241, and 4239 are Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms. Each will offer 185 sq. ft. with a 40 sq. ft. balcony that will command superb ocean views.

Deck 5 -- Upper Deck

On the Carnival Legend, most of the Upper Deck accommodations have cabins above and below. This is advantageous because noise from public venues are buffered. The only staterooms on Deck 5 that do not have cabins below them are in the forward section!

• Forward on the Carnival Legend's Upper Deck, inside cabins 5102 and 5101 are next to Camp Carnival. While this could be handy for parents traveling with children, these cabins may not be preferable for solo cruisers.
• The accommodations on Upper Deck that are above the Follies Main Lounge area are 5102- 5132 port side and 5101- 5133 starboard. Noise during rehearsals and performances could be a problem in any of these cabins.
• With the exception of six cabins, all exterior accommodations on the Carnival Legend have balconies!
• You'll find Extended Balcony Staterooms from 5108-5130 port side, and 5107-5131 starboard on the Upper Deck of the Carnival Legend. Each will offer 185 sq. ft. with a 40 sq. ft. balcony.
• Obstructed View Balcony Staterooms are 5142- 5190 and 5224-5238 port side and 5143- 5191 and 5227-5245 starboard on the Upper Deck of the Carnival Legend.
• Cabins 5241 and 5243 are larger than average, but are next to elevators and hence could be a bit noisy during high traffic times on your Carnival Legend cruise. 
• Aft Ocean Suites 5264 and 5293 each offer 285 sq. ft. with an 85 sq. ft. balcony.
• Vista Suites on the Carnival Legend's Upper Deck are 5266 and 5295. Each provides 245 sq. ft. with a 220 sq. ft. balcony.
• Interior Stateroom 5291 is quite near the Self Service Laundry, and Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms 5268 and 5270 are across the hall from this facility. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
• Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms on Deck 5 of the Carnival Legend are 5268, 5270, 5299, and 5297. Each offers 185 sq. ft. with a 40 sq. ft. balcony, and wonderful ocean views.

Deck 6 -- Empress Deck

The Empress Deck is without question the Carnival Legend's luxury district. This is where the Grand Suites are located. There is also at least one deck of buffer both above and below this deck, so noise tends not to be an issue from public areas. If you are seeking a Balcony Stateroom or an Inside Stateroom on a deck that will have superb cabin stewards, Deck 6 is a great choice! Some of the best cabins on the Carnival Legend are on the Empress Deck.

• Forward, Interior Stateroom 6102, 6106, and 6103 are in close proximity to the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be concerns in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
• Inside cabins 6159 through 6211 are small, but do share hall space with Grand Suites and Ocean Suites on the Carnival Legend's Empress Deck.
• 6178, 6180, and 6182 port side and 6207, 6215, and 6217 are Grand Suites. Each offers 300 sq. ft. of elegant living space with a 115 sq. ft. balcony!
• In our opinion, the best situated staterooms and suites on Deck 6 of the Carnival Legend are as follows. Port side, we suggest 6108- 6120, 6154- 6162, 6170- 6178, and 6226- 6230. Starboard, we recommend 6105- 6123, 6157- 6175, 6189- 6207, 6263- 6269, and 6289- 6323. Moving port side to starboard in the aft section of the ship, we also prefer 6258, 6260, 6262, 6264, 6333, 6331, 6329, and 6327.
• Starboard, Premium Balcony Staterooms 6277 and 6279 each provide 230 sq. ft. of living space with an 85 sq. ft. balcony. However, please note that these staterooms are very close to the aft elevators, so noise could be of concern when the lifts are busy.
• While there are other Ocean Suites more forward on Deck 6 of the Carnival Legend, we really like the aft located 6258 and 6327!
• Aft Vista Suites 6260 and 6329 each offer 245 sq. ft. of living space with a gargantuan 220 sq. ft. balcony!
• Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms 6262, 6264, 6333, and 6331 each provide 185 sq. ft., 40 sq. ft. balcony, and picturesque ocean views.

Deck 7 -- Verandah Deck

Verandah Deck on the Carnival Legend also has the advantage of having only cabins on the decks just below and beneath it. As mentioned, this does help muffle ship sounds in heavily trafficked areas.

• Forward, 7102- 7106 port side and 7101- 7105 starboard are Interior Staterooms. Of these, 7102 and 7101 are oddly shaped and appear to offer more space than standard.
• In our opinion, the best situated staterooms and suites on Deck 7 of the Carnival Legend are as follows. Port side, we recommend 7112- 7136, 7162- 7174, 7184- 7198, 7228, 7252- 7256, and 7268- 7284. Starboard, we suggest 7111- 7133, 7161- 7185, 7199- 7227, 7259, 7285- 7291, and 7311- 7341. We also prefer aft accommodations 7298, 7300, 7302, 7351, 7349, 7347, and 7345.
• Starboard, Balcony Staterooms 7263- 7269 and Interior Stateroom 7265 are quite close to the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be of concern in any of these cabins when the laundry is busy.
• Extended Balcony Staterooms on the Carnival Legend's Verandah Deck include 7158- 7206 and 7246- 7260 port side, and 7157- 7237 and 7277- 7303 starboard. 
• Port side on the Carnival Legend's Verandah Deck, cabins 7258 and 7260 have larger than more balcony space than average for Extended Balcony Staterooms.  
• Once again, there are a couple of cabins right next to elevators. These are Premium Balcony Staterooms 7299 and 7301. Noise could be an issue in either of these staterooms when the lifts are busy.
• 7296 and 7347 are aft located Ocean Suites on Verandah Deck of the Carnival Legend. Each provides 275 sq. ft, with an 85 sq. ft. balcony!
• Aft, Vista Suites 7298 and 7347 each have 245 sq. ft., a 220 sq. ft. balcony, and wonderful ocean views!
• 7300, 7302, 7351, and 7349 are Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms. Each has 185 sq. ft. with a 40 sq. ft. balcony for memorable ocean views.

Deck 8 -- Panorama Deck

Panorama Deck on the Carnival Legend does have Lido directly above it, so there will likely be noise from Lido dining areas as well as the scraping of deck chairs as they are moved about when staff are cleaning. Once again, we suggest earplugs or a wave machine for light sleepers.

• Starboard, Premium Balcony Staterooms 8235 and 8237 are next to elevators and likely to have noise issues.
• On the Carnival Legend's Panorama Deck, Extended Balcony Staterooms are 8138- 8186 and 8220- 8234 port side, and 8131- 8185 and 8221-8239 starboard.
• 8266 and 8271 are Ocean Suites. Each provides 255 sq. ft. with an 85 sq. ft. balcony.
• Aft on the Carnival Legend, Vista Suites 8268 and 8273 have prime cabin space and the largest balconies on Panorama Deck.
• 8270, 8272, 8277, and 8275 are Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms. Each has 185 sq. ft., a 40 sq. ft. balcony, and breathtaking ocean views!
