Carnival Fascination Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary

Best Cabins on the Carnival Fascination are staterooms and suites on Decks 5, 6, and 11.

Cabins to be wary of on the Carnival Fascination are staterooms on Deck 7.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Carnival Fascination

Deck 4 -- Riviera Deck

Cabins on Deck 4 of the Carnival Fascination have cabins above them -- this means that they are typically more quiet compared to cabins beneath the disco or sunbathing areas (the noise of moving deck chairs late at night / early in the AM). However, the ship's engine room and the propellers are beneath this deck, and so it's going to be possible to hear noise and feel vibration in some of the cabins on Deck 4.

  • In the most forward cabins on Riviera Deck of the Carnival Fascination, you might hear noise from the ocean during rough seas.
  • In the forward area of Deck 4, R2- R28 port side and R1- R31 starboard are Porthole Staterooms. Each offers 170 sq. ft. and has two portholes for ocean views.
  • All of the exterior staterooms on Riviera Deck are Ocean View Staterooms!
  • Cabins R154R141, and R299 are right by elevators, so there may be a noise factor particularly for light sleepers. Looking for another cabin on Deck 4 of the Fascination to avoid this situation is one suggestion. Otherwise, we recommend you bring earplugs, or consider investing in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
  • On the Riviera Deck of the Fascination, cabins R199-R248 port side, R199- R241 starboard, and Interior Staterooms R210- R246 and R201- R239 are in the aft section of Deck 4 of the Carnival Fascination, where the likelihood of propeller vibration could be an issue.

Deck 5 -- Main Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Deck 5 has cabins both above and beneath, which does rule out noises you'd expect from Carnival Fascination's entertainment and dining venues. Main deck also features staterooms with balconies.

  • In the most forward cabins on Main Deck of the Carnival Fascination, you might hear noise from the ocean during rough seas
  • In the forward area of Deck 5, M2- M30 port side and M1- M29 starboard are Porthole Staterooms. Each offers 170 sq. ft. and has two portholes for ocean views.
  • If you are seeking an Interior Stateroom, we recommend many of these cabins on Deck 5 of the Carnival Fascination!
  • Interior cabins M148 and M149 abut elevators, so we do suggest looking for another cabin on the Main Deck of the Fascination to avoid noise. Also, please note that each of these staterooms has a structure pole that makes it a bit challenging to move around.
  • Ocean View Staterooms on Main Deck of the Carnival Fascination are M32- M102 an M130- M218 port side, M31- M101 and M131- M225 starboard, and M258- M265 aft.
  • There are two sections of balcony staterooms on Deck 5. These are M106- M126 and M222- M256 port side and M105- M127 and M229- M263 starboard.
  • In our opinion, the best located exterior staterooms are as follows. Port side through aft, we suggest M10- M48, M70- M146, M160- M172, and M206- M262. Starboard through aft, we recommend M7- M51, M69- M147, M161- M181, and M211- M269.

Deck 6 -- Upper Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

The Upper Deck is is where the Carnival Fascination's most luxurious suites are located. There is also at least one deck of buffer both above and below this deck, so noise tends not to be an issue from common areas for most of the Deck 6 cabins. Given that this is where the high-dollar cabins are, this is also where the best cabin stewards are usually assigned. If you are interested in reserving an Interior Stateroom, having one right across from a suite might be a very wise investment! Some of the best cabins on the Carnival Fascination are on the Upper Deck!

  • Forward on Upper Deck of the Carnival Fascination, U2- U18 port side and U1- U17 starboard are Porthole Staterooms. Each offers 170 sq. ft. and a portholes for ocean views.
  • U68- U74 port side, U67- U73 starboard, and Interior Staterooms U72 and U71 are beneath the Grand Atrium Plaza area on Empress Deck. Noise could be an issue in any of these accommodations as a result.
  • Ocean View Stateroom U154 is across from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat when the laundry is busy could be of concern in this cabin.
  • In our estimation, the best situated staterooms and suites on Deck 6 of the Carnival Fascination are as follows. Port side through aft, we recommend U12- U50, U76- U108, U124- U144, and U174- U230. Starboard through aft, we suggest U9- U49, U75- U107, U125- U145, and U185- U243.
  • Balcony Staterooms on Upper Deck are U190 through U224 port side, and U201 through U237 starboard.
  • U 70- U114 port side and U69 through U115 starboard are Grand Suites. If you're looking for the very best of these, U90U94U98, and U102 port side and U89, U93, U97, and U101 Starboard have extended balconies.
  • Looking for a larger than average balcony? The aft balcony staterooms -U226, U228, U230, U243, U241, and U239- have balconies that are one third larger than average. From any of these, you'll have a beautiful aft ocean view!

Deck 7 -- Empress Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems

In many cabins on the Empress Deck, noise could be an issue. That's because the main lounge, the piano bar, both main dining rooms, and the ship's galley are on the deck directly above. While we are not suggesting this deck should be completely avoided, some of the worst cabins are on the Empress Deck of the Carnival Fascination!

  • Porthole Stateroom E2 is across from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be a problem in this cabin when the laundry is busy.
  • Porthole Staterooms E2, E4, E1, and E3 are nearby an area for staff. Noise could be of concern in any of these cabins.
  • Exterior staterooms E2- E46 port side and E1- E47 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E6- E48 and E5- E49 are beneath the Palace Main Lounge. Noise during performances and rehearsals could be an issue in any of these cabins.
  • Ocean View Staterooms E54- E60 port side and E55- E61 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E56 and E53 are beneath the Fun Shops area on Atlantic Deck. These cabins are likely to be more quiet than others on this deck.
  • Port side, Ocean View Staterooms E62- E66 are beneath Circle C on Atlantic Deck. Noise could be of concern in any of these cabins.
  • Cabins E66, E67, E68, and E69 are closest to the action in the Atrium, so noise could be problematic in these staterooms as a result.
  • Inside Cabins E299,  E124, and E 127 are right next to elevators. Noise could be a problem when the lifts are busy.
  • Port side, E70- E74 are beneath the piano bar, so noise late into the evening could be of concern in these cabins.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms E71- E75 are beneath the library. Since the library on the Carnival Fascination is a relatively quiet area, these staterooms are good choices on Empress Deck.
  • Ocean View and Balcony Staterooms E76- E126 port side and E77- E129 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E80- E124 and E81- E127 are beneath the Sensation Dining Room. Noise while this main dining room is serving, and before and after service when staff are cleaning, could be problematic in any of these cabins.
  • Ocean View Staterooms E126- E176 port side and E129- E179, and Interior Staterooms E134- E162 and E137- E165 are under the ship's galley. Noise early in the morning until late into the evening could be issues in any of these staterooms, so we do not recommend these cabins to light sleepers.
  • Ocean View and Balcony Staterooms E178- E226 port side and E191- E241 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E184- E228, E181- E189, and E197- E243 are beneath the Imagination dining room. Noise while this dining room is open, and before and after service when staff are cleaning, could be a concern in any of these staterooms.
  • Aft on the Fascination's Empress Deck, cabins E244 and E259 are slightly more spacious than average outside cabins, but their balconies are smaller.
  • The Balcony Staterooms on Empress Deck of the Carnival Fascination are  E82-  E102  and E202- E235 port side, and E83-  E103  and E217- E253 starboard.
  • E240, E242, E244, E259, E257, and E255 are Aft View Extended Balcony Staterooms. Each has a balcony that is one third larger than standard.

Deck 11 -- Verandah Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Junior Suites and Interior Staterooms are located on Verandah Deck of the Carnival Fascination. All of the Junior Suites on Verandah Deck feature balconies, and it is our understanding VIP check-in service is available for guests staying in these staterooms.

  • Junior Suites V2- V10 port side and V1- V7 starboard, and Interior Staterooms V8 and V12 are beneath the fitness center. Noise when this facility is in use could be a concern in any of these staterooms.
  • On the Carnival Fascination's Verandah Deck, V21, V23, V25, V27, V30, V34, V38, and V42 are Junior Suites that have obstructed views.
  • Unless there is a tailwind, it can be breezy on all of these balconies on Deck 11.
