Sea Princess Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary

Cabins to be wary of on board the Sea Princess are staterooms on Decks 5, 6, 8, 11, and 12.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Sea Princess

Deck 5 -- Plaza Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Deck 5 cabins on the Sea Princess have the advantage of cabins directly above them, which buffer noises from public areas above. However, the forward located cabins on this deck are near a crew area, from which noise could be a concern. When the seas and oceans are rough, noise can be an issue in any of these forward cabins as well. It is possible to find a quiet cabin on Plaza Deck of the Sea Princess with some careful planning. We suggest that the most forward staterooms and the most aft port side cabins be avoided.

  • Interior Stateroom P234 shares a wall with a staff storage room. Noise could be an issue when staff are busy on Plaza Deck of the Sea Princess.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms P237- P303 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • Interior Stateroom P307 shares a wall with the Self Service Laundry, so noise and heat from the laundry could affect guests in this cabin, too.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms P343- P349 are above the tender embarkation area. Noise might be a concern when the tender is busy.

Deck 6 -- Emerald Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Most of the cabins on Deck 6 of the Sea Princess are located under lively public venues that feature music and dancing, so there could be noise issues into the wee hours of the morning in many of these accommodations.

  • The best cabins with the least amount of noise will be E304, E306, and E348. These are port side Ocean View Staterooms.
  • There are few interior staterooms located on Deck 6 of the Sea Princess, and all of these (E311- E349) are situated most directly under the bar area. We suggest that you look for an inside cabin on another, higher deck to avoid noise issues.
  • Interior Stateroom E311 shares a wall with the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be problems in this cabin.
  • Starboard, E305 and E307 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry, which could be a source of heat and noise when busy.
  • Several of the worst cabins on board the Sea Princess are on the Emerald Deck. While we are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, there are staterooms on other decks which will be quieter.

Deck 8 -- Dolphin Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

On the Sea Princess, several Dolphin Deck staterooms are right above public areas on Promenade Deck which can be noisy into the wee hours. It is possible, with a bit of strategy, to locate quieter areas on this deck, however. Given the fact that Princess often has value rates for exterior staterooms with obstructed views, and some these just happen to be in a relatively less noisy area, it is possible for budget minded travelers to locate a nice, cost effective stateroom on Deck 8.

  • Forward on Deck 8 of the Sea Princess, the best cabins will be D240- D318 port side. Although these are generally over the bar area, most of the night action will be affecting other staterooms more directly over the dance floor area.
  • Forward, staterooms over the theater are exterior cabins D208- D236 port side, D207- D237 starboard, and interior cabins D202- D238 and D201- D239 on the Sea Princess. Based upon information from cruise passengers who have stayed in some of these cabins, there could be noise issues generated during performances, during rehearsals, and before and after shows when staff are cleaning.
  • Interior Stateroom D307 shares a wall with the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be concerns in this stateroom.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms D301 and D303 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry, which can emanate noise and heat.
  • On Deck 8 of the Sea Princess, exterior staterooms D324- D334 port side, D305- D339 starboard, and interior cabins D322- D335 are all generally over the bar. This could mean noises into the wee hours. Again, we do suggest that light sleepers locate a cabin on another deck, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine.
  • Aft, exterior staterooms D702- D750 port side, D701- D753 starboard, and interior cabins D707- D747 are just above the aft main lounge, and this could mean noise issues after hours on the Sea Princess.
  • Exterior cabins D324- D332 and D327- D337 do have obstructed views on Deck 8 of the Sea Princess.
  • Cabins D311, D315, D324, D327, D326, and D329 are designated as wheelchair accessible.
  • Quieter staterooms are located just before the aft elevators on Deck 8 of the Sea Princess. Exterior staterooms D602- D620 port side and D601- D623 starboard all have obstructed views, but do happen to be located above relatively quiet public areas (such as the photo shop, internet cafe, and reading room). The only inside staterooms we recommend on Deck 8 of the Sea Princess are in this vicinity, and these are D612, D615, and D611.
  • Aft on Dolphin Deck of the Sea Princess, the Penthouse Suites are D750 and D753. Each has up to 516 sq. ft. including balcony space, and will have that wonderful (less breezy) ocean view.
  • Also aft, D748 and D751 are Premium Suites located next to the most luxurious suites. Each has up to 536 sq. ft. including balcony space, and will have that same splendid view of the ocean.
  • Several of the worst cabins on board the Sea Princess are on the Dolphin Deck. While we are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, there are staterooms on other decks which will be quieter.

Deck 9 -- Caribe Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

The Sea Princess features the most spacious and luxurious suites on Caribe Deck, and this typically means that this is where the best cabin stewards are usually assigned. Having cabins above and below also makes this one of the quieter decks on your cruise! Some of the best cabins on the Sea Princess are located on Caribe Deck!

  • Interior staterooms C305, C306, C314, and C315 are designated as wheelchair accessible on Deck 9 of the Sea Princess.
  • There are several Balcony Staterooms on the Caribe Deck of the Sea Princess. Port side, these are C220- C232, C312- C628, and C706- C742. Starboard, these are C221- C233, C311- C629, and C705- C743.
  • Starboard, Balcony Staterooms C407 and C409 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these staterooms when the laundry is busy.
  • Aft, C746 and C749 are luxurious Owner's Suites on the Sea Princess. Each boasts up to 695 total square footage. From the balcony of either of these suites, you'll have that stunning (less breezy) ocean view!
  • Also aft on Deck 9 of the Sea Princess are Penthouse Suites C744 and C747. Each has 536 sq. ft. including balcony space.

Deck 10 -- Baja Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Baja Deck on the Sea Princess is also a high rentĀ district. Some of the best cabins on the Sea Princess are located on Baja Deck! Because some of the most luxurious suites are located on this deck, this will also be where the best cabin stewards are assigned. Baja Deck on the Sea Princess also features several mini-suites with balconies as well!

  • Past guests of B235 stated the following: "Cabin B235 suited us very well. It had plenty of storage space, a very comfortable bed and we were not disturbed by any outside noise."
  • Cabins B335, B306, B305, B311, and B312 are designated as wheelchair accessible.
  • In addition to several staterooms with balconies, Baja Deck also has an abundance of mini-suites from which to choose. Including balcony space, each mini-suite has 370 sq. ft. on Deck 10 of the Sea Princess. Most of these are B308- B428 port side and B307- B429 starboard.
  • Starboard, Mini Suites B403 and B405 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat when the laundry is busy could be problems in these accommodations.
  • Guests have reported poor air conditioning and cooking smells in B603.
  • Aft, on the Baja Deck of the Sea Princess are B748 and B753 are Premium Mini Suites. Each has up to 536 sq. ft. including balcony space, and both have that incredible (less breezy) view of the ocean.
  • The aft Owner's Suites on Baja Deck of the Sea Princess are B750 and B755. Each offers up to 695 total square footage and a beautiful aft view from the balcony!

Deck 11 -- Aloha Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Several of the staterooms on Aloha Deck on the Sea Princess are beneath busy public venues on Riviera Deck, such as the pools and the fitness center. While it's possible to find a quiet cabin on this deck, it does take some planning.

  • The best situated staterooms on Aloha Deck of the Sea Princess are Balcony Staterooms A310- A344 port side and A308- A347 starboard, and Interior Staterooms A314, A315, A320, A326, A328, A334, A338, A323, A329, A331, A337, and A341. All of these accommodations have cabins above and beneath that will buffer noise from public venues.
  • Inside cabins A307, A308, A314, and A315 are designated as wheelchair accessible.
  • Balcony Staterooms A402 and A404 port side and A401 and A403 are beneath public bathrooms. Noise -such as hearing rushing water in pipes- could be of concern in any of these staterooms.
  • Starboard, Balcony Staterooms A407 and A409 are across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be problematic in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • Balcony Staterooms A406- A610 port side and A405- A641 starboard are beneath potentially noise causing public venues that include the pools, the sundecks, and the Youth Center.
  • Aft, Balcony Staterooms A706- A740 port side and A717- A745 are beneath the fitness center and the aerobics area. Noise could be an issue in any of these cabins.

Deck 12 -- Riviera Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

The staterooms on Deck 12 of the Sea Princess are all beneath Horizon Court, which opens very early in the morning and closes late at night. We do not recommend the accommodations on this deck for light sleepers.

  • On the Riviera Deck of the Sea Princess, exterior staterooms R350 and R351 are right next to public bathrooms and could be noisy as a result. We suggest moving a little farther forward to avoid any concerns with this.
  • The Interior Staterooms on Riviera Deck are not recommended as these are directly under the very busy Horizon Court.
