Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on board the Sapphire Princess

Deck 5 -- Plaza Deck

Many cabins on this deck with potential problems.

The staterooms on Deck 5 of the Sapphire Princess are located beneath the forward stage area and the casino, so there will likely be noise issues for just about any stateroom available on this deck. Being in a cabin beneath the casino is likely more of a concern, because this venue is open later in the evening and could be a disturbance for travelers who are light sleepers.

• Forward on Plaza Deck of the Sapphire Princess, Ocean View Staterooms P200- P240 port side and P201- P241 starboard are under the lower level of the theater. Noise generated from this area could occur during rehearsals and performances, and from staff prep work and tidying up before and after shows. Interior cabins in this area which will be most affected by the theater are P210- P234 and P215- P235.
• Interior Stateroom P210 shares a wall with the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be a problem as a result. Port side Ocean View Staterooms P204 and P206 are across the hall from this laundry, and could be affected by noise and heat as well.
• Interior Staterooms P238, P242, P239, and P243 are under Churchill's Lounge. Noise until late at night could be a problem in any of these staterooms.
• Ocean View Staterooms P244, P246, P245, and P247 are beneath public bathrooms. Noise could be an issue in any of these staterooms when these facilities are busy.
• Staterooms under the casino area are Ocean View Staterooms P300- P334 port side and P301- P337 starboard, as well as interior cabins P316- P328 and P319- P331. Again, the inside cabins will be likely most affected because these are all directly under the casino. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
• Some of the worst cabins on board the Sapphire Princess are on the Plaza Deck. While we are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, there are staterooms on other decks that will be more quiet.

Deck 8 -- Emerald Deck

Along this entire deck, you should be aware that the Promenade Deck of the Sapphire Princess is right beneath your cabin. Noise could drift up from the theater, lounges, and bars to include the main lounge. Some of these venues feature live music and have dance floors, so there is a likelihood of after hours noise concerns. Several cabins on Emerald Deck also have obstructed views. Princess does offer good bargains for staterooms with obstructed views, and the windows in these exterior cabins do provide ambient light. However, if you are looking for a clear view of the ocean, you may want to confirm your preference when reserving a cabin on this deck!

• Forward on Deck 8 of the Sapphire Princess, Ocean View Staterooms E100- E118 port side and E101- E121 starboard overlook the upper level of Promenade Deck. If you are considering one of these cabins, you will likely need the curtains drawn for privacy.
• Ocean View Staterooms E118- E226 port side and E121- E229 starboard are above the upper level of the Princess Theater.  Noise could be an issue during rehearsals and performances, and the before and after shows when staff are either preparing for a show or cleaning up after one.
• Ocean View Staterooms E308- E322 port side and E309- E321 starboard are over the vicinity of the Wheelhouse Bar. Noise could be a problem in any of these staterooms while this venue is open.
• Ocean View Staterooms E324- E420 and E600- E626 port side, and E323- E327 and E601- E629 starboard are over relatively quiet venues. Of these staterooms, the only ones to steer clear of are E616, E618, E619, and E621. These four cabins are across the halls from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues when the laundry is busy.
• Ocean View Staterooms that are over the Explorer's Lounge are E422- E518 port side and E401- E521 starboard. This venue features entertainment and dancing late into the evening, so noise could be problematic in any of these cabins.
• Interior staterooms E300, E301, E302, E303, E310, E706, E707, E714, and E717 are wheelchair accessible
• Aft on Emerald Deck of the Sapphire Princess, there are several staterooms that are over Club Fusion. This is a busy nightclub, so noise could be a concern in any of these cabins until very late at night. This could affect E708- E732 port side, E709- E735 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E706, E707, E714, and E717.
• Some of the worst cabins on board the Sapphire Princess are on the Emerald Deck. While we are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, there are staterooms on other decks that will be more quiet.

Deck 9 -- Dolphin Deck

On the Sapphire Princess, Dolphin Deck staterooms have the advantage of cabin decks above and beneath, so there's a buffer zone from the noise generated from public areas. These accommodations are likely more quiet than those on the lower decks! All of the exterior cabins on Dolphin Deck have balconies, but we do caution you that these balconies are not covered, and can be seen from decks above.

• Forward on Deck 9 of the Sapphire Princess, Family Balcony Suites D104 and D105 each boast up to 613 total square footage and two bedrooms. However, given their forward location on Deck 9 of the Sapphire, be prepared for a rather windy view (unless there's a tailwind). Family cabins are in short supply and are very popular given their attractive sleeping arrangements. They sell out very quickly, so, it is best to book early to get a family cabin.
• There are several mini-suites with balconies from which to choose on Deck 9 of the Sapphire Princess (D108- D736 port side and D109- D737 starboard). Each of these have 354 total square footage.
• Of the Mini Suites on Dolphin Deck of the Sapphire Princess, D736 and D737 are located farthest aft and have larger balconies.
• Mini Suites D116, D118, D119, and D121 are across the halls from a crew area. Noise could be an issue in any of these suites.
• Interior Staterooms D114, D117, and D123 share walls with a crew area. Noise could be a problem in these staterooms as a result.
• Mini Suites D222 and D225 are across the halls from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these suites when the laundry is busy.
• Because Interior Staterooms D226 and D229 share walls with the laundry, noise and heat could be a problem in both of these cabins.
• Aft, Vista Suites D738 and D739 each have up to 548 total square footage. They are the largest suites on Deck 9 of the Sapphire Princess, and have that beautiful (and less breezy) aft views of the ocean.
• Balcony Staterooms D740 and D741 are right next to the Vista Suites on Deck 9 of the Sapphire Princess, and will have that same highly sought after views of the ocean.

Deck 10 -- Caribe Deck

The Caribe Deck of the Sapphire Princess is clearly one of the best decks for a stateroom or suite. There are 18 Penthouse Suites on Deck 10, and these are rivaled in luxury only by the Grand and Owners Suites. Since some of the high rent suites are on this deck, you will also be near where some of the best cabin stewards are assigned. The Caribe Deck's location between two cabin decks provides a sound buffer from public areas, which is always desirable! Also, the balcony staterooms and suites here are partially covered, which give you more privacy! Some of the best cabins are on Caribe Deck of the Sapphire Princess!

• Forward, Premium Suites C107 and C104 each have up to 705 total square footage, making these among the largest accommodations on the Sapphire Princess!
• Between Premium Suites C107 and C104, Premium Ocean View Staterooms C102, C100, C101, C103, and C105 actually have forward facing balconies that can be accessed when the Sapphire Princess is at port.
• C106 and C107 are Obstructed View Staterooms that a nicely situated by the forward Premium Suites.
• Balcony Staterooms C300, C301, C302, and C303 are wheelchair accessible.
• There are twelve Penthouse Suites on Caribe Deck of the Sapphire Princess. These are C400- C422 port side and C401- C425 starboard. Each offers up to 555 total square footage!
• Interior Staterooms C534, C537, C610, and C611 share walls with a crew area. Consequently, noise could be an issue in these cabins.
• Balcony Staterooms C600- C606 port side and C601- C607 starboard are across the halls from the crew area, so noise could be problematic in these cabins as well.
• Interior Staterooms C610 and C611 share walls with the Self Service Laundry on Deck 10 of the Sapphire Princess. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy. Of the Interior Staterooms available on this deck, C610 and C611 are not recommended.
• Balcony Staterooms C612 and C615 are across the halls from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be concerns in these staterooms.
• Port side and starboard, Balcony Staterooms are C110- C742 and C115- C747, respectively. Of these, C742 and C747 are especially nice as both have larger balconies and are near the aft Penthouse Suites on the Sapphire Princess.
• In our opinion, the best situated Balcony Staterooms and suites on Caribe Deck of the Sapphire Princess are as follows. Port side, we favor C104- C110, C204- C248, C326- C408, C508- C528, and C708- C752. Starboard, we suggest C107- C251, C327- C409, C509- C531, and C709- C757.
• Aft, Vista Suites C750 and C755 each offer up to 548 total square footage and superb ocean views.
• Aft Penthouse Suites C752 and C757 each offer up to 572 total square footage and great aft ocean views on the Sapphire Princess!
• Also aft, two Balcony Staterooms (C748 and C753) are located beside the suites and have wonderful (less breezy) ocean views on Caribe Deck of the Sapphire Princess.

Deck 11 -- Baja Deck

Once again, a stateroom or suite on Deck 11 has that advantage of cabins below and above, making this a more quiet location for a reservation on the Sapphire Princess. Baja Deck also has the most luxurious accommodations to be found on this ship, and will have the best stewards in the aft area where the Grand Suite and Owners Suite are located! Some of the best cabins are on Baja Deck of the Sapphire Princess!

• Forward, two Premium Suites, B104 and B107, are among the most spacious accommodations on Deck 11 of the Sapphire. Each offers up to 705 total square footage. We do caution that the view from a balcony here is likely to be quite breezy (unless there's a tailwind).
• Forward, located between the Premium Suites, Ocean View Staterooms B100, B101, B102, B103, and B105 are a little larger than standard on the Baja Deck of the Sapphire Princess. Each offers 200 square feet.
• Staterooms B300- B303 are wheelchair accessible.
• For those seeking an Interior Stateroom, we highly recommend most of the interior cabins on Baja Deck as these are going to be more quiet than those on other Sapphire Princess decks. We do suggest that B708 and B711 be avoided, however. These two inside cabins share walls with Self Service Laundries, which can be a source of noise and heat when busy.
• The best situated Balcony Staterooms and Suites, in our opinion, on Baja Deck of the Sapphire Princess are as follows. Forward, B100- B105 are well located. Port side through aft, we suggest B104- B106, B204- B248, B312- B416, B508- B528, and B710- B750. Starboard through aft, we recommend B107- B251, B317- B419, B509- B531, and B715- B753.
• Balcony Staterooms B704, B705, and B707 are across the halls from the Self Service Laundries. Noise and heat could be issues in any of these staterooms when these facilities are busy.
• The most luxurious suite available on the Sapphire Princess is the Grand Suite (B750), with 1,329 total square footage. It's aft facing balcony will offer beautiful aft ocean views!
• With up to 692 total square footage, aft Owner's Suite B751 is also in a prime location on Baja Deck of the Sapphire Princess!
• Aft, B753, a Penthouse Suite, offers up to 572 total square footage.
• Inside cabins B748 and B749 are located aft in what is clearly a luxury zone, because these staterooms are nearby the aft Grand Suite and the Owners Suite on Deck 11 of the Sapphire Princess. Staff service here is likely to be excellent!'
• Aft, balcony cabins B746 and B747 have slightly larger balconies, and are respectively next to the Grand Suite and the Owners Suite.

Deck 12 -- Aloha Deck

Except for staterooms located forward most on this deck, the majority of cabins on the Aloha Deck of the Sapphire Princess are under the Lido Deck pools, bar, and casual eateries. 

• Forward on Deck 12 of the Sapphire Princess, spacious Premium Suite A104 offers 705 total square footage. Views from this balcony are going to be on the breezy side unless there's a tailwind!
• The best located staterooms (and suite) on Aloha Deck of the Sapphire Princess, in our opinion, are A104- A302 port side, A201- A303 starboard and Interior Staterooms A206- A246 and A207- A253.
• Balcony Staterooms A300- A303 are wheelchair accessible on the Sapphire Princess.
• Inside cabins A246 and A250 are also wheelchair accessible.
• Interior Staterooms A310 and A315, and Balcony Staterooms A304, A306, A305, A307, and A309 are near a crew area, from which noise could be an issue.
• Exterior cabins A308- A742 port side and A309- A747 starboard, as well as all interior cabins located from the forward elevators to the rear of the Sapphire Princess, are all generally under the Lido pool area and the casual eateries, where noise could be a concern at night. Staff clean these areas after hours, so you could hear the scraping of deck chairs as these are moved around in that process.
• Balcony Staterooms A608, A610, A609, and A611 are across the halls from the Self Service Laundries, from which noise and heat could be problematic when this facility is busy.
• Aft on Aloha Deck of the Sapphire Princess, Balcony Staterooms A744, A746, A751, and A749 are nearby the Terrace Pool. While these cabins do have slightly smaller balconies that are covered, each has a great view of the ocean!

Deck 14 -- Lido Deck

Lido Deck features cabins in the most forward area of this deck on the Sapphire Princess. Several of these staterooms are beneath the Aerobics area and the fitness center, but there are cabins that are under relatively quiet spa areas as well. With a bit of planning, it is possible to find a good stateroom for a Sapphire Princess cruise on Lido Deck.

• Staterooms under the potentially noisy areas on Sun Deck -the Aerobics and Fitness Centers- are L200- L216, L202- L210, L203- L211, and L201- L227.
• The staterooms on the Lido Deck of the Sapphire Princess are situated away from most of the noise Lido can generate, but if you want to take extra precautions, look for a stateroom farther forward than cabins L310 and L311!
• Interior Staterooms L246 and L250 are wheelchair accessible.
• L200- L310 port side and L201- 311 starboard are all Balcony Staterooms.
