Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas

Deck 2

Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Some of the cabins on the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck 2 have cabins above them that buffer noise from public venues. 

• All Ocean View Staterooms have portholes rather than windows on Deck 2 of the Majesty of the Seas.
• Aft, staterooms 2620- 2646 and 2120- 2146 are under the main dining room area. Most affected by possible noise will be interior cabins 2623-2645 and 2123- 2145. Since most supper guests usually exit by 10:30pm, there could still be noise from staff cleaning overhead as late as 11:30pm. Breakfast is served from 7:30-9:30pm, so you might hear noise above from as early as 6:30am to 10:30am because staff are probably up there a good hour before and after dining hours for preparation and clean up. 
• All of these staterooms (2620-2646 and 2120-2146) are also likely candidates for propeller vibration because these are in the aft section of Deck 2 on the Majesty of the Seas.
• Interior cabins 2507 and 2007 are larger than standard and are wheelchair accessible.
• We are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, but some of the worst cabins aboard the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas are on Deck 2 because of the main dining room area above. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on this deck, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).

Deck 3

Because there are cabins above and below most staterooms on Deck 3, there is a buffer zone which decreases noise from the public venues on the Majesty of the Seas. There are a few cabins we don't suggest, but overall, this is a great deck for Ocean View Staterooms and Interior Staterooms!

• All exterior cabins have portholes rather than windows on Deck 3 of the Majesty of the Seas.
• In our opinion, the best situated staterooms on Deck 3 of the Majesty of the Seas are in the forward section. These are 3500- 3578 port side and 3000- 3078 starboard, and all the Interior Staterooms in this area.
• Interior Stateroom 3091 and Ocean View Staterooms 3088 and 3090 are beneath public restrooms. Water rushing through pipes could be of concern in these cabins when the bathrooms are busy.
• Ocean View Staterooms 3612- 3616 port side and 3112- 3116 starboard are beneath the dining room on Deck 4 of the Majesty of the Seas. Noise when this venue is open, and when staff are cleaning, could be a problem in any of these staterooms.
• Cabins 3616 and 3116 are closest to the main dining room, so there could be noise issues in these when the dining room is busy. Reserving a cabin farther forward might be a consideration.

Deck 4

Deck 4 of the Majesty of the Seas is another of the more quiet locations to reserve a cabin, because there are staterooms above and beneath. All of the cabins on this deck are located from forward to mid ship, so there is easy access to guest relations and the Centrum. 

• If you are seeking a well located Interior Stateroom, Deck 4, in our opinion, is one of the best decks to consider.
• Ocean View Staterooms 4502- 4588 port side and 4002- 4088 starboard are, in our opinion, are best situated for cruising on Deck 4 of the Majesty of the Seas.
• Inside cabins 4591 and 4091 are next to the main staircase. While this might be extremely handy for some, be aware that there could be some noise concerns.
• Least preferred cabin on this deck of the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck 4 is exterior cabin 4098 because it is right next to public bathrooms.

Deck 5

Want to be near the action? Deck 5 on Majesty of the Seas is a great place to reserve a cabin! You'll have easy access to the Centrum shops, the bar and casino, and the aft main lounge. With staterooms above and beneath you, a cabin on this deck is also going to afford some peace and quiet as well!

• Interior staterooms 5595 and 5095 on the Majesty of the Seas Deck 5 are next to the main staircase. Noise could be a concern in these cabins when that area is busy.
• In our opinion, 5502- 5590 port side and 5002- 5090 starboard are well situated Ocean View Staterooms on the Majesty of the Seas.
• Exterior stateroom 5598 is right beside Latte-tudes on Deck 5 of the Majesty of the Seas. While this is a great location if you're passionate about your coffee, there could be some noise issues during the day.
• Cabin 5098 is right next to the liquor store, and this could raise some noise issues while this store is open.

Deck 6

This is a great deck for a stateroom on the Majesty of the Seas because cabins are directly over and under you, and there are no public venues nearby that are sources of after hours noise!

• Ocean View Staterooms 6500, 6000, 6002 and 6004 have obstructed views on Deck 6 of the Majesty of the Seas.
• 6510- 6588 port side and 6010- 6088 starboard are, in our opinion, well situated for a cruise.
• Forward on Deck 6 of the Majesty of the Seas, Ocean View Stateroom 6506 is oddly shaped and likely a bit more spacious than standard. 
• Interior cabins 6593 and 6093 are closest to the stairs and could be noisier than other staterooms on this deck.

Deck 7

Deck 7 could be a great location for a cabin if you are presenting or attending a conference because you are within walking distance to the conference rooms and center. The lounge, located more aft on this deck of the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas, does feature dance music. 

• All Ocean View Staterooms on Deck 7 have obstructed views. If you want an ocean view, you will need to choose a different deck!
• There are only nine inside cabins on this deck. Of these, 7547 appears to be the smallest. Any of the remaining eight would be more preferable.

Deck 8

The cabins on Deck 8 on the Majesty of the Seas could be problematic for many cruisers. Underneath some of the cabins on this deck, a main lounge that has dance music could be the source of after hours noise.

• All of the staterooms are Ocean View Staterooms that have obstructed views. If you want an ocean view, you will need to choose a different deck!
• On Deck 8 of the Majesty of the Seas, cabins 8538 and 8038 are right by elevators, so these are likely to be noisier than other staterooms.
• On Deck 8 of the Majesty of the Seas, Ocean View Staterooms 8572- 8588 and 8072- 8088 are right over the main lounge. Noise could be of concern in any of these cabins.
• Aft, staterooms 8596 and 8096 could be noisier because these are closest to a public bathroom area and the elevators.
• We are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, but some of the worst cabins aboard the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas are on Deck 8 because of the lounge and dance music below. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on this deck, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).

Deck 9

On the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck 9, accommodations are more spacious. Also, because all of these staterooms have cabins above and beneath, there's going to be a bit more peace and quiet on this deck.

• All of the cabins on Deck 9 are Superior Ocean View Staterooms, and these are 35 sq. ft. larger than standard. Because all of the accommodations on the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas tend to be smaller than average, the extra space in the cabins on this deck is worth considering.
• In our opinion, the best situated Superior Ocean View Staterooms on Deck 9 of the Majesty of the Seas are 9502- 9532 and 9538- 9580 port side, and 9002- 9032 and 9038- 9080 starboard.
• Superior Ocean View Staterooms 9534 and 9034 are roomier than others on this deck, and are wheelchair accessible.
• Superior Ocean View Staterooms 9536 and 9036 are right next to elevators. Noise could be an issue in these cabins when the lifts are busy.
• Aft on Deck 9 of the Majesty of the Seas, cabins 9582 and 9082 are nearby public bathrooms. Noise could be of concern as a result.

Deck 10

Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

While all of the luxury suites on the Majesty of the Seas are on Deck 10, it's important to bear in mind the fact that this cabin deck is right below one of the busiest public venue decks on the ship. You can expect some of the best cabin stewards to be assigned to cabins on this deck, but we cannot rule out the possibility of noise from the Windjammer Cafe and the pool area. 

• While you are in the luxury zone on Deck 10 of the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas, bear in mind that you are also just beneath Deck 11 which is Lido Deck. Luxury minded travelers need to know that the Royal Family Suite and Junior Suites (1549- 1588 port side and 1050-1088 starboard) are below the pool area including Splashaway Bay on Deck 11. Noise early in the morning when staff are cleaning could be a problem in any of these staterooms.
• With 670 sq. ft. and a 145 sq. ft. balcony, the Royal Suite (1010) is the largest and most luxury cabin on the Majesty of the Seas. Located forward and port side, we cannot rule out the possibility of noise from the Windjammer Cafe, however, even though this cafe on Deck 11 is not directly overhead.
• There are no interior cabins on Deck 10.
• Deck 10 of the Majesty of the Seas is the only deck featuring balcony accommodations.
• The Royal Family Suite 1549 on the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck 10 is a mixed blessing. With 371 sq. ft. of space, this suite is rivaled only by the Owner's Suites and the penthouse or Royal Suite. The Royal Family Suite also features the largest balcony to be had on this ship. The fact that this Royal Family Suite has two walls in common with the elevator and it is closely situated under the Lido pool area might make this suite noisier than others of its kind on other Royal Caribbean ships. However, this is the only Royal Family Suite to be had on the Majesty of the Seas, so it is likely in high demand. If you wish to book this suite, we advise you do so as early as possible. Royal Caribbean may specify a minimum number of guests in your party to reserve this suite.
• Junior Suites 1550 and 1050 are also right next to elevators. Noise could be a concern when the lifts are busy.
• Aft, Junior Suites 1588 and 1088 are closest to the aft elevators. When the lifts are busy, noise could be an issue.
