Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary
Best Cabins on the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas are on Deck 7.
Cabins to be wary of on the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas are on Decks 3, 4, and 8.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas

Deck 2

All of the cabins on the Grandeur of the Seas Deck 2 have cabins above them -- this means that they are typically more quiet compared to cabins beneath public venues. Keep in mind, however, that the ship's engine rooms and propellers are beneath this deck. Vibration from the propellers could be an issue in cabins in the aft section of the Grandeur of the Seas.

  • Forward, Ocean View Staterooms 2008- 2014 port side and 2508- 2514 starboard are larger than average ocean view cabins on the Grandeur of the Seas Deck 2.
  • Interior Staterooms 2035 and 2535 are right next to elevators, and this could be a noise concern.
  • Interior Staterooms 2103 and 2107 are roomier than standard and are wheelchair accessible.
  • Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas exterior and interior cabins 2116-2138 and 2616-2638 (in the stern / rear of the ship) may notice a bit of propeller vibration on Deck 2.

Deck 3

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Deck 3 on the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas can be a good choice if you're looking for a basic stateroom with no balcony. There are cabins above in the forward and mid ship section of this deck where accommodations are going to be more quiet. However, the main dining room is located aft on Deck 4, so cabins in the rear of Deck 3 may hear noises when the main dining room is serving, as well as before and after hours when staff are involved in preparation and cleaning.

  • The better situated accommodations on Deck 3 of the Grandeur of the Seas are exterior and interior cabins 3000- 3122 and 3500- 3622. This is because decks immediately above and beneath have cabins in these areas.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 3602 and 3606 as well as inside cabins 3103 and 3107 are larger than the others in their respective categories, and are all wheelchair accessible.
  • Interior cabins 3035 and 3535 are right next to elevators on Deck 3 of the Grandeur of the Seas, and that is likely going to be a noise factor.
  • Cabins likely to be affected by main dining room noise on Deck 3 of the Grandeur of the Seas are 3126- 3158, and 3626- 3659. In this area, interior cabins (3651, 3653, 3655, 3657, and 3659)are most directly under the restaurant. Most supper guests usually exit by 10:30pm, but there could still be noise from staff cleaning overhead as late as 11:30pm. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on this deck, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).

Deck 4

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning: Several cabins on this deck may have potential problems.
Along this entire deck, you should be aware that a main drag of the Grandeur of the Seas runs above these cabins.

  • We are not suggesting this deck be avoided at all costs, but some of the worst cabins aboard the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas are on Deck 4 because of the after hours noise from casino and lounge areas above. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
  • Forward on the Grandeur of the Seas Deck 4, cabins 4000-4035 and 4500-4535 are under the theater. Noise could be a concern in any of these staterooms during rehearsals and performances.
  • Cabins 4035 and 4535 are next to elevators, and this could also introduce a noise factor.
  • The rest of the cabins on Deck 4 of the Grandeur of the Seas are under the casino and are likely not as quiet as those on other decks.
  • Least preferred are interior cabins 4745-4765. In addition to being directly under the casino, these rows of cabins are wedged between groups of interior cabins on either side.

Deck 7

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Along this entire deck, you should be aware that a main drag of the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas runs beneath these cabins. However, all of the exterior staterooms have balconies, and it is possible to find a spacious and relatively quiet cabin on this deck.

  • Cabins directly above the theater are 70147032 and 7514- 7532. In this area, it may be possible to hear noise during rehearsals and performances.
  • On Deck 7 of the Grandeur of the Seas, Balcony Staterooms 7034-7124 port side, and 7534-7624 starboard are more quiet because the theater and aft lounge are not directly beneath.
  • Superior Ocean View Balcony Staterooms 7102, 7106, 7602, and 7606 are more spacious, have larger balconies, and are wheelchair accessible.
  • On Deck 7 of the Grandeur of the Seas, interior cabins are less cramped together than cabin decks below.
  • Aft, eight Junior Suites (7150-7650) are the most luxurious to be had on this deck. These are all more spacious, have larger balconies, and command the best (and least breezy) ocean view.
  • Staterooms including spacious accommodations aft on Deck 7 of the Grandeur (7126-7156 and 7626-7656) are just above the aft lounge area, and this could generate some after hours noise. Again, if you are light sleeper , booking a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bringing earplugs, or investing in a wave machine are all worth considering.
  • Interior cabins most likely to be affected by noise from the lounge area beneath are 7145-7155 and 7641-7647. Look for an inside cabin a bit more forward on Deck 7 of the Grandeur of the Seas to avoid this possibility.

Deck 8

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning: Some cabins on this deck may have potential problems.***

While Deck 8 has the most luxurious accommodations to be had on this ship, just above it is one of the busiest public deck on the Grandeur of the Seas. The Windjammer Cafe, the pools, and the Fitness Center are all potential noise sources for cabins on Deck 8!

  • Forward on Deck 8 of the Grandeur of the Seas, 8000- 8016 port side and 8500- 8516 starboard are beneath the Windjammer Cafe. One of the busiest dining venues on the ship, this buffet is open from early in the morning until night. Noise could be a concern in any of the staterooms and suites in this area.
  • While you are in the luxury zone on Deck 8 of the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas, bear in mind that you are also just beneath Deck 9, which is Lido Deck. Luxury minded travelers need to know that suites (including exterior Royal Family Suites and Junior Suites)  8018-8066 and 8518-8566 could have after hours noise from the pool areas just above. You might hear the scraping of deck chairs when staff are cleaning. Interior cabins numbered in this area would be the most affected by the after hours cleaning in the Lido Deck, so budget minded cruisers will likely be happiest with inside cabins more forward on this deck, or as aft as possible.
  • Junior Suite 8530, according to reports, has a structural pole in the center of the cabin that is an obvious obstruction.
  • Junior Suites 8040 and 8540 are larger than usual, have bigger balconies, and are wheelchair accessible.
  • Luxury accommodations aft on Deck 8 of the Grandeur of the Seas are Royal Family Suites 8084 and 8584. In addition to being (with the exception of the Royal Suite) the most spacious suites available on the Grandeur of the Seas Deck 8, these two suites also have bountiful balcony space and have incredible views of the ocean! These family accommodations sell out very quickly, so we suggest you book one as early as possible. There will most likely be a minimum number of people required to reserve one of these suites.
  • Also aft, Junior Suites 8086, 8088, 8588, and 8586 have larger than standard balconies affording that highly sought after (and less breezy) ocean view. Guests report that there is a structural pole at the end of the bed in 8564.
