Disney Magic Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary
Best Cabins on the Disney Magic are on Deck 7.
Cabins to be wary of on the Disney Magic are on Decks 2, 5, and 8.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Disney Magic

Deck 1

Cabins on the Disney Magic's Deck 1 have cabins above them, and this means these are typically more quiet compared to cabins beneath bars and restaurants. It's important to keep in mind, however, that this is the lowest passenger deck on the Disney Magic, so beneath it are the engine rooms and propellers. While vibration from the propellers may not be much of a concern, a hum sound from the engines could be noticeable in any of these cabins.

  • Port side on Deck 1 of the Disney Magic, Deluxe Ocean View Staterooms (1030- 1078) each have 214 sq. ft. of interior space, and wonderful views of the ocean.
  • Forward and port side, Ocean View Stateroom 1030 is right by a tender lobby. Noise when this area is busy could be a concern in this stateroom.
  • There are 17 Deluxe Inside Staterooms (1037- 1053 and 1065- 1079) on the Disney Magic. These are just as roomy as the ocean view staterooms on Deck 1.

Deck 2

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Many cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Deck 2 is right beneath several major public areas on the Disney Magic, including bars and lounges. Noise could be an issue in several cabins on this deck as a result.

  • Forward on Deck 2 of the Disney Magic, exterior cabins 2032- 2052 port side, 2532- 2552 starboard, and interior staterooms 2035- 2044 and 2535- 2547 are underneath bar areas. Noise could be a concern until late at night in any of these cabins. Light sleepers may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
  • Two sections of staterooms on Deck 2 of the Disney Magic are underneath restaurants. These are exterior cabins 2070- 2094 and 2138- 2152 port side, 2570- 2594 and 2638- 2552 starboard, and interior cabins 2071- 2088, 2571- 2585, 2139- 2153, and 2639- 2653. There could be noise during dining hours and during the clean-up after each meal.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 2026- 2032 and 2114- 2118 port side and 2526- 2530 and 2614- 2618 starboard are over tender lobbies. Consequently, noise when these areas are busy could be problematic in any of these staterooms.
  • Port side on Deck 2 of the Disney Magic, exterior cabins 2086- 2114 and interior cabins 2101- 2111 are under a bar, so there could be noise issues in these cabins into the wee hours. Again, light sleepers may want to find a cabin on another deck, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms 2586- 2632 are beneath the ship's galley. Noise early in the morning and late at night could be a resulting concern in any of these cabins.
  • Some of the worst cabins are on Deck 2 of the Disney Magic. While we are not suggesting that this deck be entirely avoided, you will be able to find more quiet accommodations on other decks of this ship. We do recommend finding an inside stateroom elsewhere. Deck 1 has some nice interior cabins, as do other higher decks on the Disney Magic.

Deck 5

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Many cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Along this entire deck, you should be aware that the main drag of the Disney Magic is right beneath the cabins. Most of these public venues, such as the theater and aft restaurant, are not open extremely late at night, but there could be some noise issues, nonetheless.

  • On Deck 5 of the Disney Magic, there are very few inside cabins (probably for good reason). We do suggest locating an inside cabin on Deck 1, or on another, higher deck to avoid any noise concerns.
  • Forward on Deck 5 of the Disney Magic, exterior cabins 5000- 5024 port side, 5500- 5524 starboard, and interior cabins 5001- 5013 and 5501- 5513 are over the theater. Noise during rehearsals and performances could be an issue in any of these cabins.
  • Aft on Deck 5 of the Disney Magic, exterior cabins 5126- 5150 port side, 5626- 5650 starboard, and interior cabins 5127- 5139 and 5627- 5639 are over a main dining room. Noise when this venue is busy and when staff are cleaning could be of concern in any of these cabins.
  • While we are not suggesting this deck be avoided altogether, some of the worst cabins on the Disney Magic are on Deck 5.

Deck 6

Deck 6 of the Disney Magic features verandah staterooms, and several inside cabins as well. Accommodations in the forward and aft sections of Deck 6 have cabins above and beneath them that buffer noise from public areas.

  • Forward on Deck 6 of the Disney Magic, Ocean View Staterooms 6000 and 6500 are quite spacious and wheelchair accessible.
  • There are verandah staterooms port side (6028- 6152) and starboard (6528- 6652) on Deck 6 of the Disney Magic.
  • The Disney cruise ships are well known for having some of the most spacious staterooms to be found. All of the cabins with verandahs on Deck 6 of the Disney Magic are either Deluxe Staterooms with Verandahs or Deluxe Staterooms with the Navigators' Verandahs. Each of these is 268 sq. ft. including verandah space, which is 54 sq. ft. larger than Ocean View Staterooms.
  • Interior Staterooms 6099- 6113 and 6599- 6613 are over the Buena Vista Theater. Noise when this venue is open could be a concern in any of these cabins.
  • Aft, inside cabins 6147 and 6647 are quite spacious and are wheelchair accessible.
  • Also aft on Deck 6 of the Disney Magic, Deluxe Staterooms with Verandahs 6154 and 6654 are much more spacious than standard, wheelchair accessible, and command a wonderful view of the ocean.

Deck 7

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Deck 7 of the Disney Magic is very similar in design to Deck 6, but does offer standard and deluxe inside cabins. Because there are cabin decks above and beneath Deck 7, accommodations here tend to be more quiet. Some of the best cabins on the Disney Magic are on Deck 7!

  • Forward on Deck 7 of the Disney Magic, there are nine Deluxe Inside Staterooms (7001- 7007 and 7501- 7509). Each has 184 sq. ft. of interior space, which is 30 sq. ft. more than standard. This is a great deck for inside staterooms!
  • Staterooms with verandahs begin after the forward elevators (7016- 7138 port side and 7516- 7638 starboard) on Deck 7 of the Disney Magic.
  • Aft, inside cabins 7131 and 7631 are larger than average and wheelchair accessible.
  • Deluxe Staterooms with Verandahs 7136 and 7636 are oddly shaped, have more interior space, and feature the largest verandahs of any cabins on Deck 7 of the Disney Magic. Both are wheelchair accessible. Aft ocean views from these verandahs are not only scenic but less breezy as well.
  • Also aft, 7138 and 7638 are oddly shaped, a bit roomier, and command that beautiful ocean view on Deck 7 of the Disney Magic. These staterooms are wheelchair accessible.

Deck 8

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

While Deck 8 is certainly home to the most luxurious suites on the Disney Magic, it's important to note that many cabins on this deck are beneath one of the busiest public decks on the ship! That basically means that noise issues could be of concern in Deck 8 accommodations.

  • Forward on Deck 8 of the Disney Magic, there are two Concierge 2 Bedroom Suites with Verandahs (8016 and 8516). Each has 614 sq. footage.
  • There are 80 Deluxe Family Staterooms on Deck 8 of the Disney Magic interspersed with larger luxury suites port side and starboard. Each of these has 304 sq. ft. including the verandah. The family cabins are in short-supply and are very popular given their attractive sleeping arrangements. They sell out very quickly, so it is best to book one early.
  • Although this is unquestionably the top of the line for suites and staterooms on the Disney Magic, luxury minded cruisers need to be aware of certain sections of Deck 8 where there might be some concern with noise late at night and early in the morning. mid ship cabins (8034- 8078 port side and 8534- 8580) are under a very busy area of Deck 9, where the family pools, kiddie water slide, band area, and casual eateries are located.
  • There are 18 wonderfully spacious 1 Bedroom Suites with Verandahs on Deck 8 of the Disney Magic. Each boasts 614 sq. ft. of living space including the verandah. Of these, 8100, 8102, 8600, and 8602 are absolutely captivating! These four are all a bit more spacious than average and each have that highly sought after (less breezy) aft ocean view. These suites are wheelchair accessible.
  • Mid ship on Deck 8 of the Disney Magic, Royal Suites 8030 and 8530 are the most spacious and luxurious of all accommodations on the Disney Magic. Each has 1, 029 sq. ft. including verandah space.
  • If you are interested in family accommodations, 8024- 8028 and 8524- 8528 are Deluxe Family Staterooms with Verandahs nearby the Royal Suites (where service is bound to be excellent).
  • Aft on Deck 8, in cabins 8080- 8102 port side and 8582- 8602, there might have some off hours noise concerns as staff prepare for, and clean up after, guests who frequent the casual dining area located just above.
