Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Crown Princess

Deck 5 -- Plaza Deck

Several cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Most of the cabins on Plaza Deck (Deck 5), are beneath public venues such as the theater, the casino, and the cigar bar. Noise at night could be issues in most of these staterooms. 

• Forward on Plaza Deck of the Crown Princess, Ocean View Staterooms P202- P248 port side and P201- P303 starboard are under the lower level of the theater. Noise generated from this area could occur during performances and rehearsals, as well as from staff prep work and tidying up before and after shows. Interior cabins in this area which will be most affected by the theater are P212- P244, P249- P265, and P215- P243.
• Staterooms under the casino on Deck 5 of the Crown Princess are P302- P318 port side and P303- P329 starboard, and inside cabins P318- P340 and P319- P327. These cabins might have after hours noise issues. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
• Port side, P320- P332 are beneath the cigar bar. Noise until late in the evening could be an issue in these cabins.
• Starboard, P333 shares a wall a staff service area. Noise could be problematic when staff are using this area.
• P340 is designated as wheelchair accessible.
• Several of the worst cabins on board the Crown Princess are on the Plaza Deck. While we are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, there are staterooms on other decks in which it will be more quiet

Deck 8 -- Emerald Deck

Along this entire deck, you should be aware that the Promenade Deck of the Crown Princess is right beneath your cabin. Noise could drift up from the theater, and lounges and bars that include the main lounge. Some of these venues feature live music and have dance floors, so there is a likelihood of after hours noise concerns. Princess does offer good bargains for staterooms with obstructed views, and the windows in these exterior cabins do provide ambient light. However, if you are looking for a clear view of the ocean, you may want to confirm your preference when reserving a cabin on this deck!

• On the Crown Princess Deck 8, there are several cabins (E118- E230 port side and E119- E231 starboard) above the upper level of the theater, but none are located directly above the stage. There could be noise generated from performances and rehearsals, as well as before and after shows when staff are either preparing for a show or cleaning up after one. 
• There are few interior staterooms located on Deck 8 of the Crown Princess, and we suggest that you look for an inside cabin on another, higher deck to avoid noise issues.
• E306- E328 port side and E305- E325 starboard are over the Wheelhouse Bar. Noise until late at night could be problematic, especially for these port side cabins.
• There are several cabins with potentially obstructed views (E120- E330 and E420- E628 port side and E121- E327 and E421- E629 starboard). Again, if a view of the ocean is important to you we suggest this is clarified when you reserve a stateroom on Deck 8 of the Crown!
• E301- E304 are designated as wheelchair accessible.
• E706, E708, E705, and E707 also have obstructed views.
• E618, E620, E69, and E621 are across from the self service laundry. Noise and heat from this facility could be problematic in these staterooms as a result.
• Inside cabin E712 is located by an elevator and could have resulting noise issues.
• Port side, E720- E734 port side and E721- E735 starboard are over Club Fusion, which is a busy nightclub. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
• Several of the worst cabins onboard the Crown Princess are on the Emerald Deck. While we are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, there are staterooms on other decks which will be quieter.

Deck 9 -- Dolphin Deck

On the Crown Princess, Dolphin Deck staterooms have the advantage of cabin decks above and beneath, so there's a buffer zone from the noise generated from public areas. These accommodations are likely more quiet than those on the lower decks! All of the exterior cabins on Dolphin Deck have balconies, but we do caution you that these balconies are not covered, and you can be seen from decks above.

• Forward on Dolphin Deck of the Crown Princess, Family Balcony Suites D105 and D106 boast up to 335 sq. ft. of interior space and have 92 sq. ft. balconies. However, given their forward location on Deck 9 of the Crown, be prepared for a rather windy view (unless there's a tailwind). Family cabins are in short supply and are very popular given their attractive sleeping arrangements. They sell out very quickly, so, it is best to book early to get a family cabin.
• On Dolphin Deck of the Crown Princess, mini suites D118, D120, D119, and D121 and interior staterooms D116, D117, and D123 are near a staff area. Noise could be an issue in any of these staterooms.
• Least recommended interior staterooms are D712 and D711 because these are right next to elevators and will likely have resulting noise issues.
• Cabins D304, D308, D703, and D707 are designated as wheelchair accessible.
• There are several mini-suites with balconies from which to choose on Deck 9 of the Crown (D110- D732 port side and D109- D733 starboard). These have 277 sq. ft. of interior space and 46 sq. ft. balconies.
• D720 and D721 share walls with the self service laundry. Mini suites D722 and D723 are across the hall from the laundry. Noise and heat from this facility could be problematic.
• Mini suites D732 and D733 have larger balconies than standard.
• Aft, Vista Suites D736 and D737 each have on average 329 sq. ft. living space and a 166 sq. ft. balcony. They are the largest suites on Deck 9 of the Crown, and have that beautiful (and less breezy) aft view of the ocean. Each balcony has a steel beam that partially obstructs the view when looking out from the cabin.
• Outside cabins with balconies (D734 and D735) are right next to the Vista Suites on Deck 9 of the Crown Princess, and will have that same highly sought after view of the ocean.

Deck 10 -- Caribe Deck

The Caribe Deck of the Crown Princess is clearly one of the best decks for a stateroom or suite. Its location between two cabin decks provides a sound buffer from public areas, which is always desirable, and the balcony staterooms and suites here are partially covered, which gives you more privacy! Also, the Caribe deck balconies tend to be a bit larger... The average balcony size for a balcony stateroom on the Crown Princess is 46 sq. ft. On Caribe Deck, these balconies are 81 sq. ft. Some of the best cabins on the Crown Princess are on Caribe Deck!

• There are many interior staterooms on Deck 10, and all of them have that benefit of decks below and above. If you are looking for an inside cabin, this deck will be quieter than some of the others to be found on the Crown Princess.
• Of the inside cabins on Caribe Deck of the Crown Princess, C312 is wheelchair accessible. We do want to caution you, however, about this stateroom because it shares a wall with the self service laundry. Noise and heat could be problematic in this stateroom.
• Forward, exterior cabins with balconies, C301- C304, are wheelchair accessible.
• C314 and C311 are across the hall from the self service laundry. There could be noise and heat issues from the laundry that affect comfort in either of these balcony staterooms.
• On Caribe Deck of the Crown Princess, all of the outside cabins are balcony staterooms. Of these, here are the best located (in our opinion)... Port side, we recommend C104- C250, C406- C418, C510- C530, and C714- C748. Starboard, we suggest C101- C251, C405- C419, C509- C531, and C715- C749. 
• Interior cabins C711 and C712 are next to elevators, and this could cause noise issues.
• Balcony Staterooms C742 and C743, respectively port side and starboard, have larger than standard balconies.
• Aft, there is a vent located between S3 Suites C748 and C749. As a result, noise and smells emitted from this vent could be a problem in either of these suites.
• Aft on Caribe Deck of the Crown Princess, Category S6 Suites C750 and C751, and Category S3 Suites C748 and C749 are spacious (329 sq. ft.), have large balconies (166 sq. ft.), and afford great views of the ocean.
• Also aft, two outside balcony staterooms, C752 and C753, located beside the Premium Suites have wonderful (and less breezy) ocean views. The balconies for these two balconies are curved and larger than standard.

Deck 11 -- Baja Deck

Staterooms on the Baja Deck on the Crown Princess also have the benefit of cabins above and beneath which provide a buffer from the noises public areas can generate. All of the exterior staterooms on Deck 11 are balcony staterooms! Baja Deck is another recommended deck for inside cabins.

• In our opinion, the best located balcony staterooms on Baja Deck of the Crown Princess are as follows. Port side, we suggest B205- B251, B315- B419, B509- B531, and B715- B755.
• Outside exterior cabins B301- B304 are wheelchair accessible.
• Balcony Staterooms B612 and B611 are across from the self service laundry. Noise and heat could be concerns in either of these staterooms as a result.
• On Deck 11 of the Crown Princess, inside cabins B711 and B712 are the only two staterooms not recommended. These are by elevators and could have noise concerns.
• Past guests report that the balconies of B750 and B751 have vertical steel beams running through them.
• Aft, B756 and B757 are next to a vent that is noisy and emits smells.
• Of all the balcony staterooms on Baja Deck of the Crown Princess, B748- B754 and B755- B749 command those highly prized (least breezy) great aft views!

Deck 12 -- Aloha Deck

The Crown Princess features two of the most luxurious suites on Aloha Deck, and this typically means that this is where the best cabin stewards are usually assigned. Having cabins above and below also makes this one of the more quiet decks for accommodations! Some of the best cabins on the Crown Princess are on Aloha Deck!

• Forward, balcony staterooms A202 and A201 and inside staterooms A203 and A204 share walls with a crew area. Noise could be issues in any of these cabins.
• Outside cabins with balconies A301- A304 are wheelchair accessible on the Aloha Deck of the Crown Princess.
• Inside stateroom A312 is wheelchair accessible on Deck 12 of the Crown Princess.
• All of the outside cabins are balcony staterooms or suites. Of these, we suggest A206- A250, A310- A418, A510- A530, A614- A622, and A714- A752 port side. Starboard, we suggest A205- A251, A317- A419, A509- A531, A615- A623, and A715- A753.
• Balcony staterooms A630 and A631 are across from the self service laundry. Noise and heat from this facility could be issues in either of these cabins.
• Inside cabins A711 and A712 are next to elevators and may have noise issues. Past guest reviews do indicate that inside cabin A628 had plumbing issues that included a flooded bathroom. Also, because this cabin is located directly under a service hallway, noise issues were also a concern.
• A746 and A747 have larger than standard balconies.
• Aft on Deck 12, Owners Suites A752 and A753, with 591 sq. ft. of living space, are the largest, most luxurious accommodations on the Crown Princess! These will also have a great view of the ocean.
• Also aft and between the Owners Suites, Premium Suites A750 and A751 are also quite spacious as each has 329 sq. ft. of interior space. and a 166 sq. ft. balcony. However, there is a vent between these suites that is noisy and emits smells.

Deck 14 -- Riviera Deck

Except for staterooms located forward most on this deck, the majority of cabins on the Riviera Deck of the Crown Princess are under the Lido Deck pools, bar, and casual eateries. Because many travelers enjoy the fun on Lido Deck, during the day there's probably not much of a noise concern.

• Outside cabins with balconies R301- R304 are wheelchair accessible on Deck 14 of the Crown Princess.
• Inside cabins R403, R407, R507, R508, R514, and R515 are larger than average.
• Interior stateroom R312 is wheelchair accessible, as is suite R415.
• Interior staterooms R711 and R712 are next to elevators and could have noise issues.
• The best cabins to reserve on Deck 14 of the Crown Princess are all in the forward section. Exterior cabins R202- R304 port side and R201- R303 starboard, as well as interior cabins R204- R256 and R203- R257 are all located underneath the only section of Lido which has cabins. This will make it more quiet in these staterooms than most of the other accommodations on Riviera Deck of the Crown Princess. If you are looking for an interior stateroom on Deck 14, we suggest reserving one in this area.
• On Riviera Deck, there are several staterooms and suites that are located under the pool areas, Horizon Court, and Cafe Caribe. Noise from these areas could continue from early in the morning until very late at night. The balcony staterooms affected are R314- R742 port side and starboard cabins R311- R743. The interior staterooms affected are R316- R344, R315- R407, R508, R507, R514, R515, R712- R744, and R711- R745. We do not recommend any of these staterooms for light sleepers.
• Twelve Penthouse Suites (R402- R412 and R401- R417) are located mid ship on Deck 14 of the Crown Princess. Each boasts 536 sq. ft. of interior space!
• Also aft on Deck 14 of the Crown Princess, outside staterooms R748, R 750, R746, R747, and R749 are nearby the Terrace Pool. While these cabins do not have balconies, they have decks around them and a great view of the ocean!

Deck 15 -- Lido Deck

Lido Deck features cabins in the most forward area of this deck on the Crown Princess. While there are spa facilities above, we don't think this will present much of a noise concern. However, the walkway on Sun Deck around the gym and spa can be source of noise for outside cabins on Lido.

• Forward, Premium Suites L106 and L107 are the most spacious accommodations on Deck 15 of the Crown Princess. Each has a very spacious balcony, but we advise that views from either are probably going to be a bit windy unless there's a tailwind!
• L101, L102, L103, L104, L105, L106, and L107, and starboard balcony staterooms L201- L223 are under the fitness area. Noise early in the morning into the evening can be problematic in any of these cabins as a result.
• Between the Premium Suites, Ocean View Staterooms L104, L102, L101, and L103 have a great ocean vista. Of these, L104 is oddly shaped and larger than standard.
• Cabins L248 and L252 are wheelchair accessible.
• Balcony staterooms L311 and L312 are closest to the pool area. Finding a cabin farther forward might prevent any issues with noise on Lido Deck of the Crown Princess.
• Cabins L302, L304, L306, L308, L310, and L312, according to past guest reviews, are nearby a designated smoking area. Smoke odor when there's a cross wind is very possible.
• If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bring earplugs, or invest in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
