Carnival Ecstasy Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary

Best Cabins on the Carnival Ecstasy are staterooms on Decks 5 and 6. Deck 11 also has some wonderful staterooms.

Cabins to be wary of on the Carnival Ecstasy are staterooms on Deck 7.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Carnival Ecstasy

Deck 4 -- Riviera Deck

Cabins on Deck 4 have cabins above them -- this means that they are typically more quiet compared to cabins beneath busy public venues such as the disco or sunbathing areas (the noise of moving deck chairs late at night / early in the AM). It should be noted, however, that the ship's engine and propeller systems are beneath this deck, so we cannot rule out noise or vibration concerns that could be experienced in some of the Riviera Deck staterooms.

  • Forward on Deck 4 of the Carnival Ecstasy, R2- R28 port side and R1- R31 starboard are Porthole Staterooms. Each offers 170 sq. ft. and will have two portholes for ocean viewing.
  • R32- R248 port side and R35- R241 starboard on Riviera deck of that Carnival Ecstasy are all Ocean View Staterooms. Each offers 185 sq. ft. of living space and a picture window.
  • Interior Staterooms R154, R141, and R299 are right by elevators, so noise could be an issue in these cabins when the lifts are busy. Looking for another cabin on Deck 4 of the Ecstasy to avoid this situation is one suggestion. Otherwise, we recommend you bring earplugs, or consider investing in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
  • In the aft Ocean View Staterooms R208- R248 port side and  R199- R241 starboard, propeller vibration might be noticeable.

Deck 5 -- Main Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Deck 5 has cabins both above and beneath, which does rule out noises you'd expect from Carnival Ecstasy's entertainment and dining venues. Main Deck accommodations include Balcony Staterooms, Ocean View Staterooms, and Interior Staterooms.

  • Forward on Main Deck of the Carnival Ecstasy, M2- M30 port side and M1- M29 starboard are Porthole Staterooms. Each offers 170 sq. ft. and will have two portholes for ocean viewing.
  • The best situated staterooms, in our opinion, on Deck 5 of the Carnival Ecstasy are as follows. Port side through aft, we suggest M10- M48, M70- M146, M160- M172, and M206- M262. Starboard, we recommend M7- M47, M69- M147, M161- M181, and M211- M269.
  • The Ocean View Staterooms on Deck 5 of the Carnival Ecstasy are M32- M102 and M130- M218 port side, and M31- M101 and M131- M225 starboard. Each of these offers a picture window and 185 sq. ft. of living space.
  • M106- M126 and M222- M256 port side, and M105- M127 and M229- M263 starboard. Each offers 185 sq. ft. with a 35 sq. ft. balcony.
  • Interior Staterooms M148 and M149 abut elevators, so we do suggest looking for another cabin on Deck 5 of the Ecstasy to avoid noise. Another concern with these staterooms is the fact that each has a support pole in the living space that makes walking about a bit challenging.
  • There are six Ocean View Staterooms that offer aft facing views that are quite lovely. These are M258, M260, M262, M269, M267, and M265.

Deck 6 -- Upper Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Without question, Upper Deck is the place where the most luxurious accommodations on the Carnival Ecstasy can be found. -So this is where the best cabin stewards are assigned. If you're seeking an Interior Stateroom or a Balcony Stateroom in a posh neighborhood on the Carnival Ecstasy, look no further than Deck 6! There is also at least one deck of buffer both above and below this deck, so noise tends not to be an issue from common areas. Some of the best cabins on the Carnival Ecstasy are on Deck 6!

  • Forward on Deck 6 of the Carnival Ecstasy, U2- U18 port side and U1- U17 starboard are Porthole Staterooms. Each offers 170 sq. ft. and will have two portholes for ocean viewing.
  • In our opinion, the best situated staterooms on the Carnival Ecstasy are as follows. Port side, we recommend U12- U50, U76- U108, U124- U144, and U174- U230. Starboard, we suggest U9- U53, U75- U107, U125- U145, and U185- U243.
  • U66- U74 port side, U65- U73 starboard, and Interior Staterooms U72 and U71 are beneath the Grand Spectrum Plaza on Deck 7. Noise could be an issue in any of these staterooms, especially for the port side accommodations.
  • Port side, Ocean View Stateroom U154 is across from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be of concern in this cabin when the laundry is busy.
  • U70- U88 and U104- U114 port side and U69- U87 and U103- U115 starboard are Grand Suites on Deck 6 of the Carnival Ecstasy. Each offers 330 sq. ft. with a 70 s ft. balcony.
  • Extended Balcony Grand Suites on the Carnival Ecstasy are U90- U102 port side and U89- U101 starboard. Each has 330 sq. ft. with a magnificent 115 sq. ft. balcony! If you are looking for the largest balcony on the Carnival Ecstasy, these Grand Suites have them!
  • The Balcony Staterooms on Upper Deck of the Carnival Ecstasy are U190- U224 port side and U201- U237 starboard.
  • Aft on Deck 6 of the Carnival Ecstasy, U226, U228, U230, U243, U241, and U239 are Extended Balcony Staterooms. Each offer 185 sq. ft. with a 55 sq. ft. balcony. You will have gorgeous ocean views from any of these balconies!

Deck 7 -- Empress Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning***
Some cabins on the deck have potential problems

Cabins on the Empress deck are going to be less quiet than any others to be found on the Carnival Ecstasy. While we are not suggesting this deck should be avoided, some of the worst cabins are on Deck 7 of the Carnival Ecstasy! This is due to the stage, galley, and dining rooms on Atlantic Deck (one deck above), and the Atrium Bar, and Guest Services & Shore Excursions, which are also located just aft of cabins E66 and E 67. We do not recommend most of these accommodations for light sleepers.

  • Forward on Deck 7 of the Carnival Ecstasy, Porthole Staterooms E2 and E4 port side and E1 and E3 starboard are near a staff area. Noise could be an issue in any of these cabins.
  • Port side, E2 is across the hall from the Self Service Laundry. Noise and heat could be a problem when this laundry is busy.
  • E2- E46 port side, E1- E47 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E6- E48 and E5- E49 are beneath the Blue Sapphire Main Lounge. Noise during rehearsals and performances could be of concern in any of these cabins.
  • Ocean View Staterooms that are in a relatively quiet area on Empress Deck of the Carnival Ecstasy are E50- E60 port side and E51- E61 starboard.
  • Interior Staterooms E52, E56, E53, E57, and E299 are near a staff area. Noise could be an issue in any of these staterooms.
  • Interior Stateroom E299 shares part of a wall with an elevator. Noise could be a problem when this lift is busy.
  • Cabins E66, E67, E68, and E69 are closest to the action in the Atrium, so we suggest that you reserve a cabin further away from these areas if you prefer a more quiet atmosphere on Deck 7 of the Carnival Ecstasy.
  • Port side, E62, E64, and E66 are beneath the Circle C youth area. Noise could be a concern in these staterooms while this area is busy.
  • Port side, Ocean View Staterooms E68- E74 are beneath the Neon Piano Bar. Noise late into the evening could be of concern in these staterooms.
  • Starboard, Ocean View Staterooms E69- E75 are beneath the Carnival Ecstasy's library. We consider this to be a fairly quiet area, so these cabins are recommended for light sleepers.
  • E76- E118 port side, E77- E121 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E80- E120 and E81- E123 are beneath the Wind Star dining room. Noise could be a concern while this venue is open, and when staff are cleaning.
  • Ocean View Staterooms E122- E176 port side and E125- E179 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E124, E127, E134- E162, and E137- E165 are beneath the galley on the Carnival Ecstasy. The cabins just listed could be subject to noise issues early in the morning and very late at night. Consequently, we do not recommend any of these staterooms to light sleepers.
  • Interior Staterooms E124 and E127 are right next to elevators. Noise could be problematic when the lifts are busy.
  • E178- E226 port side, E179- E241 starboard, and Interior Staterooms E184- E228, E181- E189, and E197- E243 are beneath the Wind Song main dining room. Noise could be of concern when this restaurant is open, and when staff are cleaning.
  • The staterooms in the aft section of Deck 7 on the Carnival Ecstasy are beneath staff areas from which noise could emanate. These are E230- E244 port side through aft, E245- E259 starboard through aft, and Interior Staterooms E232 and E247.

Deck 11 -- Verandah Deck

While Verandah Deck has Spa Carnival directly above and Lido Deck beneath, this is where you will find some of the best cabins to be reserved on the Carnival Ecstasy! All outside cabins on Verandah deck feature balconies, and it is our understanding VIP check-in service is available for guests staying in these staterooms.

  • On the Carnival Ecstasy, V21, V23, V25, V27, V30, V34, V38, and V42 are Junior Suites that do have obstructed views.
  • Unless there is a tailwind, all of these balconies on the Ecstasy's Deck 11 can be breezy.
  • While not Penthouse level in terms of accommodations, the Carnival Ecstasy's Verandah Deck Junior Suites are more luxurious than the average cabins.
  • V2- V10 port side, V1- V7 starboard, and Interior Staterooms V6 and V12 are beneath the gymnasium. Noise could be a problem in these cabins when the fitness center is open to guests, and when staff are using it.
  • Once again, frugal cruisers may want to book an interior cabin on Deck 11 of the Carnival Ecstasy. Some of the best cabin stewards will be right across the hall!
