Azamara Journey Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary
Best Cabins on the Azamara Journey are on Decks 7 and 9.
Cabins to be wary of on the Azamara Journey are on Decks 4, 6, and 8.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins on the Azamara Journey

Deck 3

Most of the cabins on Deck 3 of the Azamara Journey are reasonably well situated to avoid much noise from the public areas on Deck 4.

  • Ocean View Stateroom 3001 is closest to the starboard tender gangway. Noise when this area is busy could be a problem.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 3025 and 3029 are larger than average and wheelchair accessible on Deck 3 of the Azamara Journey. These cabins do not have cabins above them to buffer noise from public venues, but the area over them is not considered to be noisy.
  • Ocean View Stateroom 3025 does not have cabins above it, but the venue over it is not considered to be a noise source.

Deck 4

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Many cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Cabins on Deck 4 of the Azamara Journey are just beneath Deck 5 public venues, which include the Cabaret Lounge and the casino. With that in mind, there are going to be noise concerns in some staterooms until very late at night.

  • On the Azamara Journey's Deck 4, exterior cabins 4000- 4016 port side and 4001- 4019 starboard are under the Cabaret Lounge. Noise during rehearsals and performances could be concerns in any of these cabins.
  • Ocean View Staterooms 4016 and 4018 port side and 4019 and 4021 starboard have the Cabaret Lounge above and the tender gangways beneath. Noise from over and under these cabins could be an issue.
  • Of the four inside cabins on Deck 4 of the Azamara Journey, 4028, 4034,  and 4035 are the largest, and are wheelchair accessible.
  • Exterior cabins 40184046 port side and 40214045 starboard, as well as inside staterooms 4028, 4034, 4038, and 4035 have the casino above them, and this a potential after hours noise issue. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, bring earplugs or consider investing in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
  • Ocean View Staterooms 4054 and 4056 port side and 4053 and 4055 starboard are beneath the Mosaic Cafe. Noise while this venue is open, and when staff are cleaning, could be of concern in these staterooms.
  • Some of the worst cabins on the Azamara Journey are on Deck 4. While we are not suggesting the cabins on this deck should be completely avoided, there are staterooms on other decks which will be more quiet.

Deck 6

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Staterooms on Deck 6 of the Azamara Journey have several busy public areas on Deck 5 just below them. This includes the casino and lounge areas, which can generate after hours noise. However, there are some nice staterooms available, especially in the aft section of this deck!

  • In Veranda Staterooms 6000 and 6001, noise when the anchor is being lowered and raised could be an issue.
  • Forward, Club Ocean Suites 6002 and 6003 are among the most spacious to be reserved on the Azamara Journey. Each has 538 ft. of interior space and a 173 sq. ft. veranda!
  • On Deck 6 of the Azamara Journey, the Club Ocean Suites, the Ocean View Staterooms, and Veranda Staterooms in the forward section of the ship (60006028 port side and 60016031 starboard, as well as interior cabins 6010 and 6011) are over the Cabaret Lounge. Noise could be a concern in any of these cabins during performances and rehearsals.
  • Obstructed View Veranda Staterooms 6030 and 6033 are closest to the forward elevators. Noise when the lifts are busy could be a problem.
  • Inside cabins 6032- 6042 and 6035- 6045 are over the casino. Noise could be of concern in these staterooms until very late at night.
  • Exterior cabins 6060- 6090 port side and 6063- 6093 starboard are over areas that can produce noise, such as the galley, a bar, and the main dining room. Noise could be problematic in these staterooms as a result.
  • Aft, the most luxurious accommodations of all on the Azamara Journey's Deck 6 are the Club World Owners Suites 6088 and 6091. Each has 603 sq. ft. interior space and 215 sq. ft. verandas which command beautiful ocean views.
  • Club Deluxe Veranda Staterooms 6090 and 6093 are nestled between the Club World Owners Suites. In addition to having majestic ocean views, these two staterooms are in a great location for excellent service on Deck 6 of the Azamara Journey!

Deck 7

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Deck 7 is a wonderful location for accommodations because cabin decks are above and beneath; these buffer noise from public venues! Because the arrangement of the accommodations most forward and aft are identical to those on Decks 6 and 8, you can find the same luxurious suites on Deck 7, where it will likely be more quiet.

  • Forward on the Azamara Journey's Deck 7,  7004 and 7005 are Club Ocean Suites. Each has 538 ft. of interior space and a 173 sq. ft. veranda!
  • Club Deluxe Veranda staterooms 7000 and 7001 are between the two Club Ocean Suites, and will have forward views of the ocean on the Azamara Journey!
  • If you are interested in an inside cabin, Deck 7 of the Azamara Journey is the best place to find one. All but three of them will be more quiet than those available on the other decks. Because there are only 12 interior staterooms on this deck, and due to their very desirable location, we suggest that you reserve one as early as possible if this is your preference!
  • 7040 and 7043, Interior Staterooms, are by a crew area. Noise can be a problem in either of these staterooms, especially in the morning.
  • Interior Stateroom 7068 shares a wall with the self-service laundry. Noise and heat could be a problem in this cabin when the laundry is busy.
  • 7008-7112 port side and 7009-7117 starboard are all Veranda Staterooms.
  • Port side, Veranda Staterooms 7076 and 7078 are across the hall from the self-service laundry. Noise and heat could be issues in these cabins when the laundry is busy.
  • Aft on Deck 7 of the Azamara Journey, Club World Owners Suites 7114 and 7119 are the most spacious accommodations of all. Each has 603 sq. ft. interior space and 215 sq. ft. verandas which command beautiful ocean views.
  • Tucked between the Club World Owners Suites, Club Deluxe Veranda Staterooms 7116 and 7121 are smaller but have that incredible aft views of the ocean.

Deck 8

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Several staterooms and suites on Deck 8 are beneath the fitness center, the main pool, Windows Cafe, and the Sunset Bar that are on Deck 9. While it's going to be possible to find a good cabin on this deck in the forward port side section of the Azamara Journey, we do not recommend many accommodations on Deck 8 to light sleepers.

  • The best situated staterooms on Deck 8 of the Azamara Journey are the most forward Veranda Staterooms that are located port side. These are 8802- 8004.
  • Starboard, Veranda Staterooms 8803- 8005 are beneath the fitness facilities on Deck 8 of the Azamara Journey. Noise from early in the morning until the gym is closed to guests and staff could be an issue in any of these cabins.
  • Port side, Veranda Staterooms 8006 and 8008 and starboard Veranda Stateroom 8007 are beneath public bathrooms. Noise, such as hearing water rush through pipes, could be a concern in these cabins.
  • On the Azamara Journey, Veranda Staterooms 8010- 8050 port side and 8011- 8057 starboard, and Interior Staterooms 8018, 8020, 8021, 8023, 8038, 8041, 8048, and 8051 are beneath the pool area. Noise early in the morning when staff are cleaning and when this area is open could be of concern in these staterooms.
  • Port side, 8052 and 8054 are beneath public bathrooms. Noise could be problematic as a result.
  • Veranda Staterooms and suites 8056- 8090 port side and 8059- 8093 starboard are beneath the buffet, the kitchen, and the aft bar. Noise early in the morning and late into the evening could be concerns in any of these accommodations.

Deck 9

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

Deck 9 is home to only two suites. Located port side and in the forward section, these Club Spa Suites are perfectly situated for spa enthusiasts!

  • 9000 and 9002 are Club Spa Suites. Each offers 310 sq. ft. with a 76 sq. ft. veranda.
