Alternative Dining Restaurants on the Carnival Magic

Prime Steakhouse:

When you're looking for that perfect steak, or desire succulent seafood in a setting that exudes subtle elegance, consider reservations at the Prime! Located aft on Promenade Deck (Deck 5), experience exceptional experience and a top-notch menu that includes USDA prime aged porterhouse up to 24 oz., NY strip, filet mignon cuts, prime rib, lamb chops, veal chops, chicken, seafood, and lobster. The wine list at the restaurant will be is the best you will find on your Carnival Magic cruise. There's a 35 USD per person charge for this dining experience!

Cucina del Capitano:

Named in honor of Carnival's many captains who are from Italy, Cucina del Capitano offers an array of Italian specialty dishes, pastas, and risottos served in traditional family style manner! On the Carnival Magic, the Cucina del Capitano is located aft on Panorama Deck (Deck 11). The cost is 5 USD for children up to 11 years of age, and otherwise 15 USD per person.

RedFrog Pub:

The RedFrog Pub is a Key West-inspired pub featuring Caribbean fare (coconut shrimp, chicken wings, Bahamian conch salad, and fried grouper fingers - 3- 5 USD for appetizer sized portions). Play foosball and listen to live music while drinking Carnival's signature private-label brew- the ThirstyFrog Red. This venue is mid ship on Promenade Deck (Deck 5).

Chef's Table:

Designed for those of us who truly delight in the culinary arts, Chef's Table offers you and 11 fellow gourmands a cocktail reception, a tour of the galley kitchen, and a multiple entrees that will make you feel as though you have entered epicurean heaven. Your meal will be prepared by one of the Carnival Master Chefs! This dining adventure can cost $95 per person. 

Tips for Carnival Magic's Supper Club:

• A sample menu for the Carnival Magic's alternative dining restaurant / steakhouse is available at our Carnival Cruise Menu guide.
• Reservations for alternative restaurants are a must! We strongly suggest that you book your reservations when you complete your online check-in process before leaving for your cruise whenever possible. Should you make reservations when you arrive on ship, it's suggested you do so promptly.
• For Chef's Table, booking your reservations as early as you can is best case.
• No children under five, please.
• Gentlemen are required to wear jackets, and while formal dress is expected for dinner in the main dining rooms, you'll feel most comfortable at the supper club in elegant attire.
• There is no smoking in The Alternative Dining Restaurants.
• The 35 dollar fee per diner for the Prime Steakhouse does include gratuity.
• How much should I tip at the alternative dining restaurants (Prime Steakhouse, Cucina del Capitano) on the Carnival Magic? First, bear in mind that all alcoholic beverages that you pay for will have a gratuity added. The cover charge does include gratuity, however, you may wish to consider giving an extra gratuity to the waiter or waitress who has served you. An appropriate amount is to estimate the value of the meal you ordered if you ordered it on land and tip 15-20% based on that cost. If you feel that the value of the meal was $50 were you to order it in a land-based restaurant, you should tip $7.50-$10. It is certainly your discretion not to tip, but, the waiters serving you are some of the best on the ship and should be rewarded if they provided you with an exceptional dining experience.
• Specialty drinks, beer, wine, and soft drinks can be purchased from the current bar menu.
