An Evening at Le Cirque:
"An Evening at Le Cirque" at the Pinnacle Grill, created by Holland America Master Chef Rudi Sodamin and Le Cirque's own Executive Chef Craig Hopson, is a highlight now featured on many Holland America Line cruises. Emphasis here is the fact that the Pinnacle typically offers this experience for one evening on your Holland America cruise.
Le Cirque, created by Sirio Maccioni in the early 1970's, is a family owned affair. Established in New York City, Le Cirque restaurants now include locations in Las Vegas and the Dominican Republic. A treat to the palate and the eye, Maccioni, his wife, and his sons, assure their guests the very finest of French gourmet dining! Recipient of the James Beard award, Le Cirque has maintained globally renowned status over the decades. Their lobster salad, soups including the Sweet Corn, and an array of main courses such as "Chicken Under a Brick" (of vegetables), Rack of Lamb, and Wild Halibut delightfully support Le Cirque's high status in the eyes of gourmands world-wide. Le Cirque's Chateaubriand is both delectable and generous in quantity. Leave room for their signature dessert, Creme Brulee Le Cirque. While Holland America dutifully recreates the Le Cirque atmosphere, restaurant aficionados will note the absence of some of the restaurants' whimsy in decor. The dining plates, however, include the French circus theme and your service is brought to you by those ever diligent Holland America staff in a manner true to Le Cirque expectations. Expect a 39 USD charge in addition to the Pinnacle's 25 USD, and you will need to make your reservations as early as you can for this "not to be missed" experience on your cruise. So far, the only regrets we've heard about are from those who did NOT book for an Evening at Le Cirque on their cruise!

How much should I tip at the alternative dining restaurants (Pinnacle Grill and Canaletto) on the Statendam? First, bear in mind that all alcoholic beverages that you pay for will have a gratuity added. The cover charge does include gratuity, however, you may wish to consider giving an extra gratuity to the waiter or waitress who has served you. An appropriate amount is to estimate the value of the meal you ordered if you ordered it on land and tip 15-20% based on that cost. If you feel that the value of the meal was $50 were you to order it in a land-based restaurant, you should tip $7.50-$10. It is certainly your discretion not to tip, but, the waiters serving you are some of the best on the ship and should be rewarded if they provided you with an exceptional dining experience.

Lunch is 10 USD. Specialty drinks, beer, wine, and soft drinks can be purchased from the current bar menu.
