The Pinnacle Grill and Canaletto Restaurants Onboard the Rotterdam
The Pinnacle Grill:
Located mid ship on Promenade Deck, the Rotterdam's Pinnacle Grill awaits you. Enhanced by soft lighting, the ebony walls, gilded golden columns, and elegant table settings create a sense of intimate dining. Your wine list at The Pinnacle Grill is the best to be found on your cruise and features many excellent selections. Dungeness crab, Seared Duck Breast, Smoked Salmon and main entrees such as Ribeyes, Porterhouse steaks, and King Salmon are among expertly prepared menu items. If you're a steak lover, this is your restaurant! There are delectable vegetarian selections as well. Here you'll find the best of the Pacific Northwest for your dining pleasure, and for your wine palate. Frozen Souffle Glace Grand Marnier and other delectable dessert choices satisfy any gourmet sweet tooth!
The Pinnacle Grill is available for lunch and dinner by reservation only. We recommend making your pre-confirmation reservations online (during the check-in process) or with Holland America's Ship Services at 1-800-541-1576 as soon as possible after booking.
Upon embarkation, you will be asked to reconfirm the exact time and date of your reservation. This is a dinner only experience from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. You'll feel most comfortable at the supper club in elegant attire. There is no smoking permitted. The 20 USD fee per diner does include gratuity at dinner. Lunch is a 10 USD charge. The Pinnacle Grill specialty drinks, beer, wine, and soft drinks can be purchased from the current bar menu.
Canaletto:
From 5:30 to 9:30pm, Canaletto onboard the Rotterdam is a little bit of Italy tucked away on Lido deck. Angel Hair with Scallops, Butternut Squash and Asparagus Risotto, and Toscana Flank Steak are among the classic Italian dishes served here. Tiramisu creations and gelato are on the dessert menu. This restaurant opened on the Rotterdam in December of 2009. For Canaletto, reservations are suggested.
An Evening at Le Cirque:
"An Evening at Le Cirque" at the Pinnacle Grill, created by Holland America Master Chef Rudi Sodamin and Le Cirque's own Executive Chef Craig Hopson, is a highlight now featured on many Holland America Line cruises. Emphasis here is the fact that the Pinnacle typically offers this experience for one evening on your Holland America cruise.
Le Cirque, created by Sirio Maccioni in the early 1970's, is a family owned affair. Established in New York City, Le Cirque restaurants now include locations in Las Vegas and the Dominican Republic. A treat to the palate and the eye, Maccioni, his wife, and his sons, assure their guests the very finest of French gourmet dining! Recipient of the James Beard award, Le Cirque has maintained globally renowned status over the decades. Their lobster salad, soups including the Sweet Corn, and an array of main courses such as "Chicken Under a Brick" (of vegetables), Rack of Lamb, and Wild Halibut delightfully support Le Cirque's high status in the eyes of gourmands world-wide. Le Cirque's Chateaubriand is both delectable and generous in quantity. Leave room for their signature dessert, Creme Brulee Le Cirque. While Holland America dutifully recreates the Le Cirque atmosphere, restaurant aficionados will note the absence of some of the restaurants' whimsy in decor. The dining plates, however, include the French circus theme and your service is brought to you by those ever diligent Holland America staff in a manner true to Le Cirque expectations. Expect a 39 USD charge in addition to the Pinnacle's 25 USD, and you will need to make your reservations as early as you can for this "not to be missed" experience on your cruise. So far, the only regrets we've heard about are from those who did NOT book for an Evening at Le Cirque on their cruise!
