Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins onboard the Carnival Splendor
Deck 1 -- Riviera Deck
Cabins on Deck 1 of the Carnival Splendor have cabins above them -- this means that they are typically quieter compared to cabins beneath the disco or sunbathing areas (the noise of moving deck chairs late at night / early in the AM).
On Deck 1 of the Splendor, cabins 1414-1457 (in the stern / rear of the ship) may notice a bit of propeller vibration.
Cabins 1353, 1420, and 1431 are next to elevators and hence could be a bit noisier than other cabins on the Splendor's Riviera Deck.
Aft Cabins 1446 and 1457 are slightly larger than average.

Deck 2 -- Main Deck
Deck 2 on the Carnival Splendor is right beneath several major public areas on the ship, such as the main dining rooms and the main lounge. However, given the operating hours of the venues, these are times when most people are out of their cabins so this shouldn't present a concern.
On the Main Deck of the Splendor, the exterior cabins in the aft of the ship (2474-2477) all have unique aft-facing views that are quite picturesque.
Outside cabins aft of on Deck 2 of the Carnival Splendor (2470, 2473, 2474, & 2477) are odd shaped and likely more spacious than standard sized staterooms.
Guest feedback regarding cabins 2458 and 2474 indicated that noise from the dining room above was minimal, but at times earplugs came in handy. Less pitching and rolling was noted in this cabin than in cabins on higher decks when it was windy. Vibration issues from th engine were noted, and guests indicated there were noise concerns when the Carnival Splendor docked from the wench and ropes. Guests indicated that 2474 was spacious, but stated th cabin had less closet space.
Forward on the Splendor's Deck 2, cabins 2201 & 2202 are also roomier than average.

Deck 6 -- Upper Deck
Some cabins on this deck with potential problems
Along the entire Upper Deck, be aware that the main drag of the Carnival Splendor is right beneath your feet -- including some areas that stay fairly noisy into the wee hours. This includes the stage area, casinos, the dance club, and lounges & bars.
Arguably, any cabin numbers from the middle of the ship to the aft of the ship (cabins 6270-6483) might have significant noise coming from the late night action below. While we are not shunning this deck, some of the worst cabins on the Carnival Splendor are on Upper Deck! If you are light sleeper, you may prefer a cabin elsewhere on the ship, or bring earplugs. You may also consider investing in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
On the Carnival Splendor's Upper Deck, Balcony Cabins 6207 and 6208 are slightly larger than average.
Balcony category cabins in the rear of the Splendor's Upper Deck (6452, 6454, 6456, 6491, 6489, and 6487) all have either over-sized balconies or the highly sought-after rear-facing views (where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy).
Inside cabins 6360, 6387, 6416, and 6451 are right by elevators and may be noisier.
Staterooms 6450 and 6484 have the largest balconies to be had on Deck 6 of the Splendor!

Deck 7 -- Empress Deck
***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!
The Empress Deck on the Carnival Splendor is without question the high-rent district of the ship. This is where all the suites and penthouse category cabins are located. There is also at least one deck of buffer both above and below this deck, so noise tends not to be an issue from common areas. Given that this is where the high-dollar cabins are, this is also where the best cabin stewards are usually assigned. So, if your budget only affords you an inside cabin, reserving one right across from a penthouse might be a very wise investment! Some of the best cabins on the Carnival Splendor are on the Empress Deck!
Wonderful views are to be had from aft cabins 7440, 7442, 7444, 7446, 7455, 7553, 7451, and 7449 which also feature extended balconies on Deck 7 of the Splendor.
If you love your balcony space, 7438 and 7447 aft on the Splendor's Empress Deck come with spacious extended balconies.
Cabins 7336 and 7408 abut elevators and are probably going to be a bit noisy during peak hours.

Deck 8 -- Verandah Deck
The Splendor's Veranda Deck should be considered in two sections. One has cabins on the deck above it, and the other one has the pool, sunbathing, and dining area above it.
The quieter areas are cabins 8201-8257 on the forward part of the Splendor's Verandah Deck, which has cabins on the deck above it.
If you're in one of the Splendor's Verandah Deck cabins in the aft sections, you can occasionally hear the scraping of deck chairs being rearranged above you on Lido deck. This is not a problem during the daytime hours, but it can awaken light sleepers after midnight until 6 AM when the crew is cleaning the Lido deck public spaces. Once again, we suggest you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, or, bring earplugs or a wave machine.
Balcony category cabins 8446 and 8457 have extended balconies, and staterooms 8448 and 8459 have the largest balconies on Deck 8 of the Carnival Splendor.

Deck 9 -- Lido Deck
Cabins on the Carnival Splendor's Lido Deck are close to the pool, spa & gym facilities. They are also of interest because they have no public areas above or below them.
Forward on the Lido Deck of the Carnival Splendor, 9200 and 9201 are both Scenic Grand Ocean View Staterooms. Each will offer more than the average 220 sq. ft. and have amazing views from large picture windows.
Between the Scenic Grand Ocean View Staterooms are four forward facing Scenic Ocean View Staterooms. Each will offer 220 sq. ft. and have a large picture window.
9202 and 9203 are Captain's Suites. Each will offer 500 sq. ft. with a 150 sq. ft. balcony.
9268- 9272 are across the hall from the laundry area. Noise and heat could be issues in either of these staterooms when this self serve laundry is busy.
Balcony Staterooms 9274 and 9273 are across the halls from the elevator area. Noise from public traffic when the elevators are in peak use could be problematic.
While there are doors to suppress the sound from the pool area, cabins 9296 and 9295 are a bit close to the pool area and you may prefer to move further forward.

On Deck 10 of the Splendor, cabins 1054 through 1085 are directly under Spa Staterooms and are likely to be less noisy.
While there are doors to suppress the sound from the pool area, cabins 1084 and 1085 are a bit close to the Seaside Theatre and pool area. You may want to locate a cabin more forward on Deck 10 of the Carnival Splendor.

Deck 11 -- Spa Deck
On Deck 11 of the Carnival Splendor, Spa Carnival Staterooms are just steps away from Spa Carnival facilities.
