Helsinki is well recognized for its stunning architecture among other highlights. These 3 hour city tours are a great way of seeing some of Helsinki's most famous landmarks, including the open air market, Parliament House, the National Monument, Finlandia Hall, Kiasma (contemporary art museum), the Opera House, the Olympic Stadium, Sibelius Park, and the Temppeliaukio Rock Church. If you're time is limited, or if you just want a feel for the city highlights you'd like to study further, Helsinki city tours are well worth considering.
 
Price: Adults expect to pay from $49 to $55.

City Highlights & Architecture

This 4 hour tour offers the opportunity to see the open air market, the Lutheran Cathedral, the Uspanski Cathedral, Parliament House, the National Monument, Finlandia Hall, the contemporary art museum, the Opera House, the Olympic Stadium, and the Temppeliaukio Rock Church. Your tour then brings you to the Hivittrask House, which was home to architects Eliel and Eero Saarinen. Hivittrask now houses an exhibition of Finnish Arts and Crafts, and you'll have ample time to explore the home and the grounds.
 
Price: Adults expect to pay around $64.
 
Booking Advice: Because of the walking involved, these tours are rated as moderate with regard to physical exertion. Cruise line prices are competitive with online third party offers. Self guided tours, however, are less expensive.

Porvoo Tours

Porvoo has been trading center since the beginnings of the Middle Ages, and received a charter in 1346. Your 4 hour tour here does take you back in time, as you view riverfront storage houses, cobblestoned streets, and explore the quaint craft shops in this town. This particular tour includes a snack of pastries and coffee or tea at the Porvoo Roastery Cafe. The cafe has a floating barge stationed by the terrace for your viewing pleasure of this picturesque village.
 
Price: Adults expect to pay around $62.
 
Booking Advice: Full day (around 7hours) tours combine visiting Porvoo with other places of interest. You'll see tours that explore Porvoo and city highlights via train ($229), and the Rock Church, a Finnish farm, and Porvoo ($179). These full day tours often include lunch. The Porvoo excursion we've reviewed here is rated as moderate in terms of phyical exertion due to the walking involved. Cruise line prices for this tour appear to be quite competitive with third party vendors.

Helsinki Highlights & History

This 4 hour tour provides the opportunity to see city highlights as well as explore the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum. This excursion begins with the city tour, where you'll see highlights including the Lutheran Cathedral, the Uspanski Cathedral, Parliament House, the National Monument, Finlandia Hall, the contemporary art museum, the Opera House, and the Olympic Stadium. You then progress to the walking tour of the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum comprised of more than one hundred buildings representing various provinces in Finland. Established in 1909, this open air museum is an intriguing way of exploring this country's history and architecture as you enjoy lovely scenery. Snacks are typically included. Your tour ends after you see the Rock Church.

Santa's Summer House

These 4 hour tours are very family friendly, and provide a unique way of learning a bit about Finnish culture and traditions. En route to the beloved gnome's summer retreat, you'll see the open air market, Parliament House, the National Monument, Finlandia Hall, Kiasma (contemporary art museum), and the Opera House. Then, your coach takes you through the lovely finnish countryside where you'll meet Santa, and lean about the Finnish smoke sauna before enjoying a snack.
