Grand Turk Shore Excursion Guide

Cruise lines offer a number of shore excursions for sale when visiting Grand Turk. For your convenience, we have provided a sample listing below of the shore excursions typically sold by cruise lines that visit Grand Turk. You may wish to check out 3rd party shore excursions in Grand Turk to get a wider variety of options to choose from.

Gibb's Cay Stingrays & Snorkel

These excursions, from 2 to 2.5 hours in length, ultimately take you to Gibb's Cay, which is about a mile from Grand Turk and where stingray encounters are located. Higher Priced excursions may also include opportunity to snorkel by a live coral reef before you journey on to encounter those stingrays.

Price: Adults expect to pay from $49 to $70.

Booking Advice: This excursion is rated as difficult, so it isn't for everyone. Checking third party vendors for longer snorkeling excursions to more remote areas is also worth consideration.

Sail & Snorkel Excursions

Sailing & snorkeling adventures are incredibly popular from Grand Turk. From 2.5 to 3 hours, you're sailing off to great areas for snorkeling. Snacks and refreshments are typically included, and many of the excursions wind down with R&R at the famous Governor's Beach. Higher priced snorkeling excursions often include sailing on a catamaran.

Price: Adults expect to pay from $56 to $90.

Booking Advice: This excursion ranges from moderate to difficult on most activity level scales. It's quite popular, and seating is limited, so booking early is a good idea if you're interested. Checking third party prices for similar excursions may save a bit of cash.

Governor's Beach

This is just easy R&R for 4 hours on one of the Caribbean's lovely white sand beaches!

Price: Adults expect to pay from $29 to $60.

Booking Advice: For about $10 per person round trip, taking a taxi to Governor's Beach (about five minutes away from the cruise terminal) can save you some money!

Conch World Village Tour & Tasting

While it does sound a little cheesey, the Conch World Village is relatively new to Grand Turk, and does concern the preservation of the Queen Conch. This guided tour takes you through this one of a kind conch farm, and you'll gather information about all things conch, from egg to adult phase. Getting a taste of this delicious (but ugly) fish is also part of the plan, as is your opportunity to shop for souvenirs. The fact that this tour involves a scenic drive through Cockburn Town with its lovely 18th century architecture is also especially nice.

Price: Adults expect to pay around $36.

Booking Advice: This is considered to be an easy activity, and when you add the cost of admission ($15 per adult) with round trip taxi fare ($16), you'll discover that it's actually quite competitively priced.

SCUBA Grand Turk

With live coral reef and an array of marine life, it's not wonder why divers love Grand Turk! Two tank dives are advertised by the cruise lines.

Price: Adults expect to pay $120.

Booking Advice: This excursion lasts about 4 hours, is rated as strenuous, and is only for certified SCUBA divers. Third party vendor prices for similar 2 tank dives are a bit less expensive.

Third Party Shore Excursions in Grand Turk

Below are links to third-party shore excursion vendors in Grand Turk. These links will launch in a new browser window and are external sites. We bear no responsibility for the content or services offered at these sites.
3rd party shore excursions often have advantages over shore excursions sold by the cruise lines. Third party shore excursions can be less costly and feature smaller groups than shore excursions sold by the cruise lines. Often, the vendors you buy from directly are the same vendors used by the cruise lines themselves.

The benefit of buying shore excursions from the cruise line is that the vendors and pre-screened for safety and reliablity. While cruise lines shore excursions can be more expensive than buying direct from a local vendor, there is certainly peace of mind that the cruise line will be using a reliable, safe and trusted vendor. If you experience a problem with the vendor on a cruise line-sold shore excursion, the shore excursion managers onboard the cruise ship will likely be an invaluable resource to help settle disputes.
