Cruise lines offer a number of shore excursions for sale when visiting Anchorage. Portage Glacier Cruise & Wildlife Conservation Center

After a coach ride to Portage Lake, you board an m/v Ptarmigan designed to navigate the icebergs you'll see along the way. Within 3 hundred yards of Portage Glacier, you'll get great information from your guide as well as awesome vistas. Then, you'll visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where a variety of animals who can not manage in the wild are sheltered. It's a great opportunity to see musk ox, bison, moose, and bear.
 
Price: Adults expect to pay around $130.

Kayaking in Prince William Sound

For 3.5 hours, kayak Prince William Sound with a guide. You'll see some majestic scenery where ever you look.

Chugach State Park Hike

These 4 hour hiking excursions take place in coastal alpine mountains with a guide who helps you to tailor your hike to your ability. The Alaskan Range. Cook Inlet, and Mt. McKinley can be seen, and the wildlife you might spot include squirrels, dall sheep, birds, and moose.

Glacier & Wildlife Flightseeing

Although the entire excursion takes about 2.5 hours, 1.5 hours of that time is your actual flight in a seaplane over Colony and Knik Glaciers. In addition to the incredible landsape, you might also see bear, eagles, moose, and Beluga Whales.

Prince William Sound Exp Glacier Cruise

This excursion, which lasts 6.5 hours, takes you to a salmon hatchery, and then you'll see several glaciers, including the awesome Surprise Glacier in Harriman Fjord. Lunch is included, and you'll have great opportunity to see harbour seals and sea otters.
 
Price: Adults expect to pay around $160.
