Port Canaveral Self-Guided Tour

Here are some popular sights and attractions you may want to check out if you choose not to do a shore excursion and explore Port Canaveral on your own:

  • Orlando Theme Parks
Orlando Theme Parks are a great way to spend the day in Orlando if your ship is in port for at least 8 to 10 hours or if you're staying overnight. Port Canaveral's location is in close proximity to Orlando attractions, such as Universal Studios Orlando theme park, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Sea World Orlando, and Walt Disney World Resort.
  • Cocoa Beach
Cocoa Beach, 15 minutes south from Port Canaveral, is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing day on the beach. Cocoa Beach features a blend of family-friendly activities and lots of honky-tonk bars. The center of the action is the Cocoa Beach Pier at 401 Meade Avenue, Cocoa Beach, established in 1962. It's a Space Coast historic landmark, featuring four restaurants, four tropical bars, some small boutiques, fishing, and fantastic views. There's live entertainment daily. Plus, it's a favorite spot for watching shuttle launches.
  • Kennedy Space Center
Kennedy Space Center is located on Merritt Island. There are plenty of attractions to fill a full day, but the main highlights can be done in half a day if necessary. The maximum access pass allows admission for two days and includes admission to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, in which realistic astronaut training simulators allow guests to feel the pressure of four times the force of gravity. You can also take a virtual moonwalk and ride a rover across Mars.

Let us know your thoughts on what should be included on a self-guided tour of Port Canaveral.
