Cruise Passenger Safety in Cape Town

Private medical facilities are good in urban areas and in the vicinity of game parks, but they may be limited elsewhere. Visitors should ask their health care provider what immunizations are needed to travel to Cape Town. Check with your insurance carrier to assure you have coverage out of country. The vast majority of visitors complete travels in South Africa without problems. However, visitors should be aware that criminal activity, often violent, is prevalent throughout the country.  As a matter of personal safety, it is advisable that you travel in groups, or go to places where there are large crowds of tourists when you are in Cape Town.

The Cape Town Police can be contacted by calling 10111
