Popular Restaurants in Lisbon:

100 Maneiras is a trendy, fine-dining restaurant in Lisbon with a menu that is mostly traditional Portuguese cuisine. Chef Ljubomir Stanisic from Yugoslavia, changes the menu daily in order to use only the freshest ingredients which he easily finds on his daily visits to the Ribeira food Market. Every dish at 100 Maneiera is completely Portuguese inspired and the chef's prefered preparations include fish and fresh vegetables; however there are plenty of delicious meat dishes also available. Hours are Mondays -Saturdays 20.00-02.00 (kitchen until 22:30), and their location is at Morada: Rua do Teixeira, 35, Bairro Alto - 1200-459 Lisboa, Portugal. One of the best known names in Lisbon's fine-dining scene is Olivier Costa, for which the Oliver restaurant is aptly named. A famous chef like his father, Oliver has successfully won the hearts of foodies and gourmets everywhere. There is never a disappointment with his cuisine creations which include specialties such as thinly sliced octopus carpaccio and fall-off-the-bone osso buco (veal shank) in port sauce. The decoration is inspired in the luxurious French courts of the 18th Century, with large blue and pink velvet chairs, satin ribbons and golden cloth tables. In Olivier all the senses are satisfied, including the sixth sense that forces us to sin to satisfy our greed, but only for dinner, and until the early hours of the morning. Prices here range from 30 to 65 USD, and major credit cards are accepted. Closed on Sundays, the hours are from 20h – 01h. Oliver is located at Rua do Alecrim, n0 23, (M: Baixa / Chiado), Lisbon 1200-459, Portugal. Meninos do Rio is ideal for a light lunch and the menu offers some excellent salads and other great lunch dishes such as: lasagnas with spinach, cottage cheese and sundried tomatoes; a goat cheese salad; penne with tomato and basil and a side dish of açorda ( a typical portuguese dish made of mashed bread, garlic, coriander, olive oil and raw egg). And Meninos do Rio has a great sushi bar, too! All major credit cards are accepted. Their hours are as follows: week days - 12h30 - 1500h and 19h30 – 00h30; Saturday and Sunday 12h30 - 15h00 and 19h30 – 23h30. Restaurant Eleven, housed in a modern building perched above Parque Eduardo VII with killer views of Baixa and the river Tagus, was established by a group of 11 friends, one of whom is the executive chef, Spanish-based Joachim Koerper. Restaurant Eleven has become one of Lisbon's finest – earning its first Michelin star just months after opening. The menu, which changes seasonally, has a variety of delectable Mediterranean dishes (such as sardine delight with artichoke, scallops carpaccio with black truffles, sea bass with beetroot, roasted lobster with butter beans, Challans duck with stuffed baby pumpkin and lamb in a lemon crust with a chestnut parfait) which are all carefully prepared to preserve the true freshness and flavours of the ingredients. The interior décor of flowing drapes, candlelight, ambient lighting, and soft music creates an atmosphere that is vibrant during the day and romantic at night. Waiters provide expert advice on both the menu and the ample wine list. Bottom line – Eleven offers amazing taste sensations in a stunning setting. Prices for main courses are from 55 - 65 USD, and the Tasting Menu is at 115 USD. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Hours are from 12h30 – 15h, and from 19h30 - 23h (Sunday, Monday, holidays closed). Chef Joaquim Figueiredo oversees the kitchen to turn out modern takes on traditional menu items such as sole cooked in champagne sauce, seasonal game birds served roasted in a rich wine sauce, and scallops with Alentejo bacon. Prices are expensive, and jacket and tie are required. They do have free valet parking. Major credit cards are accepted, and reservations are a must!
