Fairbanks Restaurant Guide

Alaska is known for seafood: halibut, salmon, crab, and razor clams. You won't find much moose or bear on the menu, but reindeer sausage is quite popular. Lots of berries grow locally, so look for them in pies or other dishes. You're going to find some basics like American breakfasts, burgers, and sandwiches, too!

Popular Restaurants in Fairbanks:

Silver Gulch Brewing and Bottling is located 10 miles north of Fairbanks at 2195 Old Steese Hwy N, Fairbanks, Alaska. Their contact information is 907-452-2739, and you can also visit www.silvergulch.com. Look forward to a nice range of choices on the menu (examples: sampler beers, scotch eggs, onion rings, fruit and cheese tray, mussels, salmon on a plank, burgers, cod and chips, pork chops with brie and grilled prawns), service staff are attentive and friendly, the made-on-site-beer is amazing. 5-star meal at a 3-star price.

Chowder House has seafood on the menu, and has quick service! Soups and sandwiches are great. It's a little pricey, but for the most part, everything is fairly reasonable! They also have quiche on the menu. They are located at 206 Eagle Ave, Fairbanks,,and you can all them at (907) 452-2882.

Originally built in 1921, the Pump House Restaurant & Saloon stands today as a historical landmark renovated in 1978 to depict what it was like in Fairbanks during the gold rush era of the 1890s. Beautiful old hardwood floors and authentic gold rush antique relics (some dating back over 150 years) are peppered throughout the restaurant. are original, with some dating back over 150 years. The menu is largely what you would expect to find in an area rich in seafood (halibut, shrimp, salmon and king crab legs) but also offers land delights (steaks, chicken, ribs and wild game such as reindeer). A standout favorite is the bacon wrapped crab stuffed jumbo shrimp with mixed vegetables plus a wild rice dish. Soup and salad accompany all entrees. The salmon also gets rave reviews. A bit pricey, meals average $40. They are located at 796 Chena Pump Road, Fairbanks, and you can call them at 907 479 8452, or visit www.pumphouse.com/.

The official currency is the U.S. dollar. All major credit cards and travelers checks are accepted in most locations.
