The Regency and the Marquis main dining rooms on Sun Princess have dark wood paneling, etched glass, and cozy yet elegant European décor. Sun Princess' Regency restaurant is located aft on Emerald Deck, and is reservations only at dinner time. Early dinner is at 6:00pm, and late dinner is at 8:15pm.
The Marquis restaurant on Sun Princess is aft on the Plaza Deck. The dining room is open during the day for breakfast and lunch, with entrees which include a couple of late breakfast items. Among appetizers, you'll find turkey breast on a bed of greens, mussels, vegetable soup, and basic salads with home-made dressing choices. Burgers and fries, pasta, Philly Steak Sandwiches, and veggie burritos represent main entree choices. Personal Choice Dining (where you are not bound to dining at a set time) is featured in the Rigoletto for dinner.
Cuisine in the Sun Princess' Main Dining Rooms
Dinner menus in both of Sun Princess' main dining rooms are identical and vary daily. Lobster and Seafood Pate, veggie spring rolls, and melon are among appetizers. Soups and salads include Tortellini and Spinach Soup, Porcini Mushroom Soup, Watercress, and Caesar Salad. Excellent pasta and vegetarian choices, lobster, shrimp, Beef Wellington, and Rack of Lamb exemplify main entrees. Desserts on the dinner menus include Hazelnut Souffle, Bananas Foster Flambe, Pear Tarts, Cherries Jubilee, ice cream, and cheeses. There are also selections for the health conscious. Food quality and variety does receive some excellent guest reviews, and staff service is considered quite good.

Tips for the main dining room on Sun Princess:
In the Marquis restaurant, breakfast is served from 7:00am to 9:00am, and lunch is from noon to 2:00pm with no reservations required.
Unless you have opted for Anytime Dining, you will need reservations for dinner in the Regency, and can choose either early dinner at 6:00pm, or late dinner at 8:15pm. These can be made after booking your cruise by contacting Princess at www.princess.com or call 800-774-6237. Contact Princess for any changes you wish to make no later than 3 weeks before sailing, but keep in mind that changes must be honored on a first come, first serve basis. After changes have been requested and when you are aboard ship, confirm with your Maitre D' within your first 24 hours, and staff will as much as possible try to accommodate you.
For special dietary concerns, Princess needs your requests in writing no later than 4 weeks before you sail, and these requests need to be confirmed once you're aboard with the Maitre D' within 24 hours. Call 800-774-6237 with those requests. Go to the Cruise Personalizer on the Princess website to specify dietary preferences.
Bare feet, jeans, shorts, tank tops, and swim wear are not permitted. For gentlemen, smart casual such as slacks and polo style shirts are more appropriate at dinner time. For formal nights, you'll be most comfortable in elegant attire.
Meals are no cost, but special beverages, wines, beer, and soft drinks may be purchased via current bar menu.
When ordering steaks and other meats, specify your grilling preference.
Princess Cruises Personal Choice Dining on Sun Princess
Personal Choice Dining is available in the Marquis Dining Room from 5:30pm to 10:00pm for dinner. After booking, specify your selection for Personal Choice Dining or traditional evening reservations. Once aboard, you may opt to call in your reservations for Personal Choice Dining in the morning, or just show up. Expect a wait time of 5 to 15 minutes. You will experience less wait time if you show up earlier than 6:00pm. On formal nights, and in the evenings after 8:00pm, your wait time will likely be longer. You will receive a beeper and approximate wait time from staff when you arrive for dinner.
