Carnival Conquest Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary

Best Cabins onboard the Carnival Conquest: staterooms on deck 7--the Empress Deck. Deck 9, 10 and 11 also have very good cabins.

Cabins to be wary of onboard the Carnival Conquest: stateroom on deck 6--the Upper Deck.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins onboard the Carnival Conquest

Deck 1 -- Riviera Deck

Cabins on the Carnival Conquest's Deck 1 have cabins above them -- this means that they are typically quieter compared to cabins beneath the disco or sunbathing areas (the noise of moving deck chairs late at night / early in the AM).

  • Carnival Conquest Cabin Numbers 1420-1465 (in the stern / rear of the ship) may notice a bit of propeller vibration.
  • Cabins 1201 & 1202 onboard the Carnival Conquest have an unusual shape to them. This means that they may have slightly more space.

Deck 2 -- Main Deck

Deck 2 is right beneath several major public areas on the Carnival Conquest -- the main dining rooms and the main lounge. However, given the operating hours of the venues are times when most people are out of their cabins, this shouldn't present a concern.

  • The exterior cabins in the aft of the ship (Carnival Conquest Cabin Numbers 2470-2483) all have unique aft-facing views that are quite picturesque.

Deck 6 -- Upper Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Warning ***
Many cabins on this deck with potential problems.

Along this entire deck, you should be aware that the main drag of the Carnival Conquest is right beneath your cabin -- including some areas that stay fairly noisy into the wee hours. This includes the Disco, Casino, Video Arcade, Teen Disco, Main Lounge & Aft Lounge.

  • Arguably, any cabin numbers from the middle of the ship to the aft of the ship (Carnival Conquest cabins 6356-6489) might have significant noise coming from the late night action below. Some of the worst cabins onboard the Carnival Conquest are on the Upper Deck. We are not shunning this deck, however, if you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, or, bring earplugs or a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds).
  • Balcony Cabins 6201-6205 all have unique forward facing views,
  • Balcony Cabins 6207 and 6208 are slightly larger than average Balcony Cabins.
  • The Balcony category cabins in the rear of the Carnival Conquest (cabin numbers 6442-6489) all have either oversized balcony's or the highly sought-after rear-facing views where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy.

Deck 7 -- Empress Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

The Empress deck is arguably the high-rent district of the ship. The best cabins onboard the Carnival Conquest are generally onboard the Empress Deck. This is where all the suites and penthouse category cabins are located. There is also at least one deck of buffer both above and below this deck, so, noise tends not to be an issue from common areas. Given that this is where the high-dollar cabins are, this is also where the Carnival Conquest's best cabin stewards are usually assigned to. So, if your budget only affords you an inside cabin, an inside cabin right across from a penthouse might be a very wise investment!

  • The Balcony category cabins in the rear of the ship 7434-7453 all have either oversized balcony's or the highly sought-after rear-facing views where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy.
  • Balcony Cabins 7201-7206 all have unique forward facing views, while 7205 and 7206 are slightly larger than average Balcony Cabins. However, with forward facing balcony's, when the ship is under way, it is usually very breezy except when there is a tailwind.

Deck 8 -- Verandah Deck

The Carnival Conquest's Veranda deck should be considered in two sections -- the one that has cabins on the deck above it, and, the one that has the pool, sunbathing and dining area above it.

  • The quieter area are cabins 8201-8291 on the forward part of the Carnival Conquest's Verandah deck which has cabins on the deck above it.
  • The cabins beneath the Lido deck (cabins 8293-8461) in the rear portion of the Verandah deck can occasionally hear the scraping of deck chairs being rearranged above -- not a problem during the daytime hours, however, after midnight until 6 AM when the crew is cleaning the Lido deck public spaces, this can awake light sleepers. So, yet again we give the advice that you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, or, bring earplugs or a wave machine.
  • The Balcony category cabins in the rear of the ship 8442-8461 all have either oversized balcony's or the highly sought-after rear-facing views where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy.

Deck 9 -- Lido Deck

Cabins on the Carnival Conquest's Lido Deck are close to the pool, spa & gym facilities. They are also of interest because they have no public areas above or below them.

  • While there are doors to suppress the sound from the pool area, cabins 9288-9294 are a bit close to the pool area and you may prefer to move further forward.
  • Balcony Suite Cabins 9206 and 9205 are slightly larger than average and feature forward facing views. With forward facing balcony's, when the ship is under way, it is usually very breezy except when there is a tailwind.
  • Inside Category Cabin 9201 is a smaller cabin -- try and get 9202 or 9203 instead.

Deck 10 -- Panorama Deck

Cabins on the Panorama Deck onboard the Carnival Conquest are close to the pool, spa & gym facilities. There are no public areas below these cabins, but, several of the Panorama Deck cabins are beneath the gym facilities.

  • Generally, this should not be viewed as a problem since the gym generally doesn't generate enough noise that would be heard in the cabins below, and, if there is loud music, it is generally during hours when people are less likely to be in their cabins. If you are concerned about this, you might prefer to stay away from cabins 1001-1023 on the Panorama Deck.
  • While there are doors to suppress the sound from the Carnival Conquest's pool area, cabins 1062-1067 are a bit close to the pool area and you may prefer to move further forward.

Deck 11 -- Spa Deck

The key feature of these cabins is that they are steps away from Spa Carnival, the salon and the gym and just a short walk to the pool. While the Camp Carnival Youth Program is one deck above, the facilities are above the gym and shouldn't present any problems for those in cabins on the Carnival Conquest's Spa deck.

  • The Carnival Conquest has not yet introduced the concept of "Spa Cabins" to the Carnival Conquest. However, the cabins on this deck are the likely candidates to be designated as "Spa Cabins" at some point in the future. "Spa Cabins" are strictly non-smoking and there is a $250 cleaning fee assessed if the cabin staff notice the smell of smoking in your room.
