Carnival Dream Best & Worst Staterooms: Summary

Best Cabins onboard the Carnival Dream: staterooms on Deck 7 --the Empress Deck. Decks 8, 10, 11 and 12 also have very nice staterooms.

Cabins to be wary of onboard the Carnival Dream: staterooms on Deck 6-Upper Deck.

Deck-by-Deck Breakdown of the Best and Worst Cabins onboard the Carnival Dream

Deck 1 -- Riviera Deck

Cabins on the Carnival Dream's Deck 1 have cabins above them -- this means that they are typically quieter compared to cabins beneath the disco or sunbathing areas (the noise of moving deck chairs late at night / early in the AM).

  • On the Riviera Deck of the Carnival Dream, cabins 1400-1455 (in the stern / rear of the ship) may notice a bit of propeller vibration.
  • Aft on Deck 1 of the Dream, cabin 1438 has more space than average staterooms.
  • Cabins 1327, 1333, 1404, and 1417 share wall space with elevators and are probably noisier than other cabins on the Dream's Deck 1.

Deck 2 -- Main Deck

Deck 2 of the Carnival Dream is right beneath several major public areas on the ship, such as the main dining rooms and the main lounge. However, given the operating hours of the venues, these are times when most people are out of their cabins so this shouldn't present a concern.

  • The exterior cabins in the aft of the ship (2472-2497) all have unique aft-facing views that are quite picturesque on the Dream's Main Deck.
  • Aft on Deck 2 of the Dream, cabins 2470 and 2495 are roomier than average staterooms.
  • The Carnival Dream has balcony cabins 2248 through 2414 Port side, and 2273 through 2441 Starboard on the Main Deck.
  • Cabin 2367 may not be a great choice because it is right by an elevator.

Deck 6 -- Upper Deck

Some cabins on this deck with potential problems

Along the entire Upper Deck, be aware that the main drag of the Carnival Dream is right beneath your feet -- including some areas that stay fairly noisy into the wee hours. This includes the Disco, Casino, Video Arcade, Teen Disco, Main Lounge & Aft Lounge.

  • Arguably, any cabin numbers from the middle of the ship to the aft of the ship (cabins 6441-6498) might have significant noise coming from the late night action below. While we are not shunning this deck, some of the worst cabins on the Carnival Dream are on Upper Deck! If you are light sleeper, you may prefer a cabin elsewhere on the ship, or bring earplugs. You may also consider investing in a wave machine (a sound device available at a specialty retailer like Brookstone -- produces pleasant sounds that can wipe out the unpleasant sounds). Past guests of 6334 have indicated actual vibrations as well as noise that they attributed to the theater on deck 5.
  • Cabins 6367, 6458, and 6445 are next to elevators on the Dream's Deck 6, and may be noisy.
  • Cabins 6484 and 6471 have the largest balconies on the Carnival Dream's Upper Deck.
  • The Balcony category cabins in the rear of the Dream's Upper Deck (6471-6484) all have extended balconies and more spacious accommodations. Most also have the highly sought after rear-facing views (where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy).

Deck 7 -- Empress Deck

***CruiseAdvice.org Favorite Deck ***
Highly rated by our cruise experts!

The Empress deck is without question the high-rent district of the ship. This is where all the suites and penthouse category cabins are located. There is also at least one deck of buffer both above and below this deck, so noise tends not to be an issue from common areas. Given that this is where the high-dollar cabins are, this is also where the best cabin stewards are usually assigned. So, if your budget only affords you an inside cabin, reserving one right across from a penthouse might be a very wise investment! Some of the best cabins on the Carnival Dream are on the Empress Deck!

  • On the Dream's Empress Deck, balcony category cabins in the rear of the ship 7456-7467 have extended balconies and the highly sought-after rear-facing views (where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy).
  • Cabins 7426, 7344, and 7349 are next to elevators and are likely noisier on Deck 7 of the Dream.

Deck 8 -- Verandah Deck

The Veranda Deck on the Carnival Dream also has the benefit of cabin decks just above and beneath it. Most accommodations on Verandah deck are standard staterooms, and all of the outside cabins do have balconies.

  • On the Dream's Deck 8, cabins 8351, 8338, and 8445 are by elevators and probably noisier than other staterooms.
  • Balcony category cabins in the rear of the Dream's Verandah Deck (8462-8479) all have over-sized balconies, and several have the highly sought after rear-facing views (where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy). Some of these staterooms are also more spacious than average.

Deck 9 -- Vista Deck

The Carnival Dream's Vista Deck should be considered in two sections. One has cabins on the deck above it, and the other one has the pool, sunbathing, and dining area above it.

  • The quieter areas are cabins 9201 through 9268 on the forward part of the Dream's Vista Deck, which has cabins on the deck above it.
  • If you're in one of the Vista Deck cabins in the aft sections of the Carnival Dream, you can occasionally hear the scraping of deck chairs being rearranged above you on Lido deck. This is not a problem during the daytime hours, but it can awaken light sleepers after midnight until 6 AM when the crew is cleaning the Lido deck public spaces. Once again, we suggest you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship, or, bring earplugs or a wave machine.
  • On Deck 9 of the Carnival Dream, balcony category cabins in the rear of the ship 9472-9481 all have either over-sized balconies, or the highly sought after rear-facing views (where you typically don't have to worry about the balcony being too windy). Guest reviews of stateroom 9474 describe its balcony as larger than the balconies of cabins located middle aft.

Deck 10 -- Lido Deck

Cabins on the Carnival Dream's Lido Deck are close to the pool, spa & gym facilities. They are also of interest because they have no public areas above or below them.

  • While there are doors to suppress the sound from the pool area, cabins 10290 and 10291 are a bit close to the pool area and you may prefer to move farther forward on Deck 10 of the Dream.
  • On the Dream's Lido Deck, inside cabins 10210-10288 port side and 10209-10289 starboard are actually more spacious than average. If balcony access is not a concern, these cabins could be a nice choice.

Deck 11 -- Panorama Deck

Cabins on the Carnival Dream's Panorama Deck are the first floor of Cloud Spa Accommodations and as such, you have private access and amenities, and also receive priority Spa reservations. There are no public areas below these cabins, but some noise may filter through from the spa facilities immediately above the most forward cabins.

  • On Deck 11 of the Dream, cabins 11278 and 11277 have balconies with partially obstructed views and may be a bit noisier due to their proximity to the bandstand.
  • Suites 11215 and 11221 starboard are larger and do have over-sized balconies on the Dream's Panorama Deck.
  • Forward on Deck 11 of the Dream, cabins 11204 and 11203 are spacious.
  • "Spa Cabins" are strictly non-smoking and there is a $250 cleaning fee assessed if cabin staff notice the smell of smoking in your room.

Deck 12 -- Spa Deck

These Spa Deck cabins are the ultimate Cloud Spa Accommodations on the Carnival Dream! All cabins feature private access and amenities, with priority spa reservations. Also, these staterooms are all spacious and do include balconies.

  • "Spa Cabins" are strictly non-smoking and there is a $250 cleaning fee assessed if cabin staff notice the smell of smoking in your room on Deck 12 of the Dream.
  • Cabins 12216 and 12225 are closest to the Waterworks and are likely to be noisier than cabins farther forward on the Dream's Spa Deck.
  • On Deck 12 of the Dream, cabins 12201, 12203, and 12205 are nearby the steam rooms, the Co-ed Sauna, and Locker rooms. There may be slight noise issues while these facilities are open.
