The Specialty Restaurants onboard the Norwegian Epic

Cagney's Steakhouse:

NCL_dining_SurfAndTurfCagney's Steakhouse on the Norwegian Epic is located port side and aft on Deck 7, and boasts a standard but delectable menu at a la carte prices. Starters, which currently range from 5 to 9 USD, include Roasted Beet Root with Garlic Goat Cheese, Oysters Rockefeller, Lump Crab Cake, and the "Colossal Shrimp Trio" with cocktail sauce made with Jack Daniel's. Beefsteak and Vidalia Onion Salad, Caesar Salad, loaded Baked Potato soup, and Lobster Bisque are among Soups and Salads that currently range in price from 3 to 5 USD. Cagney's menu lists Featured Selections, which range from 19 to 25 USD and include pork chops, veal chops, and 16 and 32 ounce Prime Ribs. Grilled Classics from 18 to 25 USD include16 and 18 ounce Rib Eye Steaks, five and eight ounce options for Filet Mignon, Surf & Turf (lobster and filet mignon), Porterhouse steaks and are cooked to order with your choice of four sauces. Tuna Steak, lobster, and the Fried Fisherman's Platter, ranging from 17 to 25 USD, are among the Fisherman's Corner selections. While some entrees do come with sides, the menu includes ten Steakhouse Sides choices for around 2 USD; these include Cagney's Fries in White Truffle Oil, Rice Pilaf, Truffle Mash, baked potatoes, Roasted Mushrooms, and sauteed asparagus, green beans, or broccoli. If there's room for dessert, Cagney's on the Norwegian Epic offers delights such as cheesecake, fudge brownies, fruit salad, and creme brulee!

Moderno Churrascaria:

Starboard and aft on Deck 7, just across from Cagney's, the Moderno Churrascaria is home to churrasco style cuisine. Roughly translated, churrasco is barbecue in Portuguese. Ten different meats, which include Filet Mignon, Picanha (sirloin), Garlic Beef, Linguica (Portuguese sausages), and Chicken Breasts are carved by gauchos are served table side. You simply raise the green flag for more or the red flag to stop. Sides are garlic mashed potatoes, buttered rice, black beans, and fried sweet bananas, and the bountiful salad bar has such delights as hearts of palm, French beans, potatoes, shrimp with roasted garlic, fresh asparagus, and ceviche. Brazilian cheese bread -Pao de Queijo- is also part of the fare. For dessert in the Norwegian Epic's Moderno Churrascaria, there are options such as Mango Rice Pudding, Coconut Flan, and Papaya Cream. Enjoy! The per person charge for the Moderno Churrascaria is 24.95 USD.

La Cucina:

NCL_dining_PizzaOn Deck 14, La Cucina Italian restaurant on the Norwegian Epic is appointed in muted blues and maroon, and offers a menu designed to be a ristorante experience in the true Italian tradition. This is the place meant for unhurried dinner and conversation! The menu offer five Antipasti and Zuppa selections, ranging from Minestrone alla Genovese from 2.99 USD to Calamari with Marinara Sauce at 5.99 USD. Eight Paste & Risotto dishes range from Angel Hair Pasta with Pomodoro Sauce and Fresh Mozzarella for 6.99 USD to Linguine Cioppino (Little Neck Clams, Shrimp, Black Mussels, Calamari, and Monkfish in Light Pinot Grigio and Cherry Tomato Sauce) for 9.99 USD. All Paste & Risotto dishes can become entree sizes for an additional 5 USD. Two simple salads, including Caesar, are then presented for 3.99 USD each. Nine Secondi entrees range from Free Range Chicken Breast with Prosciutto at 12.99 USD to Cold Water Lobster and Fettuccine (24.99 USD). Nine Contorni (Side Dishes) are offered, and include grilled vegetables, grilled polenta with mushroom sauce, and Sauteed Spinach, Mushrooms, and Garlic, and Parmesan Dusted Fries. Dolci (Desserts) include Vanilla Ice Cream with Hot Espresso (2.99 USD) and Tiramisu (3.99 USD). Assorted coffees and cordiales are also on the menu. La Cucina is open from 5:30 to 10:00 PM. Bellissima!

Le Bistro:

NCL_dining_CremeBruleeLe Bistro french restaurant on the Norwegian Epic is located on Deck 5.  This is your place on the Epic for a fine French dining. Le Bistro's menu on the Norwegian Epic is a mixture of upscale and casual, with its patio dining, more intimate table seating indoors, and its no shorts allowed dress code. Appetizers and Salads range from Baked Onion Soup with Gruyere Cheese Crust for 3.99 USD to the Seafood Medley and Green Asparagus with Puff Pastry and Lobster Bisque for 7.99 USD. Main entrees, which range from 11.99 to 34.99 USD, include Portobello Mushrooms Layered with Goat Cheese and Red Bell Pepper over Sweet Potato Buerre Blanc to a 32 ounce Certified Angus Beef Ribeye Steak for Two (with Bordelaise Sauce, Sauteed Wild Mushrooms, and a Vegetable). The latter is served table side. Coq Au Vin, duck, veal medallions, and lobster are also among main entree choices. For dessert, creme brulee, profiteroles, and a chocolate fondue for two are included, with prices ranging from 3.99 to 5.99 USD. This restaurant is open from 5:30 to 10:00 PM, and it's best to reserve earlier than later. Bon appetit!

Wasabi Sushi Bar:

Wasabi Sushi Bar on Norwegian Epic features a wide selection of sushi. The Sushi Bar is also a great place for sake! Food is priced ala carte, and all drinks are at current menu prices. Wasabi Sushi Bar is located on Norwegian Epic's Deck 7.

Teppanyaki:

Teppanyaki onboard the Norwegian Epic provides you dinner with style as chefs prepare your menu selections on the classic stainless steel griddle. The Teppanyaki on the Norwegian Epic is the largest one yet for Norwegian Cruise Lines. There's a 29.95 USD per person charge to dine at the Norwegian Epic's Teppanyaki grill. The Teppanyaki grill is located on Norwegian Epic's Deck 7.

Tips for Norwegian Epic's Specialty Restaurants:

  • Casual attire is fine and very much in keeping with Norwegian Cruise Lines Freestyle cruising.
  • We do suggest no shorts or jeans after 6:00pm.
  • For all alternative restaurants, you will need to make reservations once you are aboard ship.
  • Generally, it is a good idea to reserve dining sooner than later. Hours open are based upon itinerary.
  • Per person dining charges do not include specialty drinks, beer, and wine
  • How much should I tip at the Alternative Dining Restaurants (La Cucina, Le Bistro,  Wasabi, Teppanyaki, Cagney's Steakhouse) on the Norwegian Epic? First, bear in mind that all alcoholic beverages that you pay for will have a gratuity added. The cover charge does include gratuity, however, you may wish to consider giving an extra gratuity to the waiter or waitress who has served you. If the service is exceptional, giving the waiter $5 per person would be most appreciated.
